Trump issues "last warning" to Hamas

Twiglets1 · 06/03/2025 07:10

US President Donald Trump has issued what he called a "last warning" to Hamas to release the hostages being held in Gaza.

"I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don't do as I say," Trump said in a lengthy post on his Truth Social platform.

In his social media post, Trump said there would be "hell to pay" if the hostages were not released, while not specifying the nature of the support he was sending Israel.
"Release all of the hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you," he added.
"For the leadership, now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance."

He also appeared to threaten civilians: "Also, to the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD!"

The above is how he actually writes and most people have to double check it's written by the president of America.

Disbanding illegal settlements is not 'ethnic cleansing'. They shouldn't be there in the first place. Tens of thousands of Palestinians were expelled to make room for them, THAT'S ethnic cleansing. The settlements they live in are illegal under international law, the religion of those settlers is irrelevant. Last July the ICJ ruled that those settlements they live in are to be removed, the settlers evacuated and for Israel to pay reparations to the Palestinians.

Whatever goals Trump has - whether you agree or disagree with them - his way of dealing with issues at hand is absolutely MORONIC. He comes across as inarticulate imbecile. Hamas will ignore his stupid messages and I actually think his heavy handed bullshit will endanger people both in Israel and abroad.

To add - I heard Americans (people I know) saying how happy they are they have a strong president who gets things sorted. I would be embarrassed if this was the leader of my country but I guess I'm not American (and thanks f for that).

I despair this is what America degraded to.

Since 19 jan (he became president 20-21 I think) the dollar is weakening against £. Not by much but it was going up and since then it’s going down…

Hamas says Trump’s threats encourage Israel to back out of Gaza ceasefire
Militant group accuses the US president of seeking to undermine deal with his ultimatum for release of hostages

Hamas accused Trump and Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to back out of the ceasefire agreement they reached in January. The agreement calls for negotiations over a second phase in which the hostages would be released in exchange for more Palestinian prisoners and detainees, a permanent ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.

Hamas spokesperson Abdel-Latif al-Qanoua told the AP that the “best path to free the remaining Israeli hostages” is through negotiations on that phase, which were supposed to begin in early February. Only limited preparatory talks have been held so far.

It's the Trump Tariff wars, it's the equivalent of returning to 1970s economic policies using barriers to entry to hinder competition from other countries, instead of innovation. So far due the special relationship (the UK is always involved in intelligence activities with and for America) the UK is not in this conversation.

The problem is Trump appears to be living in some sort of bubble imagining that the America of 2025 is the same militarily and in terms of manufacturing as the Reagan era. It's not.

The fact that Trump has prompted China to respond basically saying we'll fight you if necessary:
China has warned the US it is ready to fight "any type" of war after hitting back against President Donald Trump's mounting trade tariffs.

The world's top two economies have edged closer to a trade war after Trump slapped more tariffs on all Chinese goods. China quickly retaliated imposing 10-15% tariffs on US farm products.

"If war is what the US wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war or any other type of war, we're ready to fight till the end," China's embassy said on X, reposting a line from a government statement on Tuesday.

Trump does tend to get things done... not a fan, but if he can bring this sickening hostage debacle to an end then credit to him. Almost impossible to negotiate with terrorist organisations and Hamas are cold blooded murdering terrorists who don't care about anyone apart from the destruction of Jews and looking after themselves.

What's he got done so far then? He seems to issue lots of threats, however, what's been achieved? The ceasefire agreement was all written previously and then continued it, I realise he claims credit but it was planned a while back.

Would getting things done mean bombing gaza until all hamas are dead? Does getting things done mean withdrawal of support for Ukraine so they have to give up.land and minerals? Withdrawal of intelligence so that Russia gains the upper hand? Bully boy tactics?

Genocide is defined in § 1091 and includes violent attacks with the specific intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.

This is according to the US Dept of Justice. By threatening death on not only Hamas but also Palestinian civilians Trump is inciting genocide under international law which is a crime (just to add to his felonies) he needs to be impeached.

The argument often here is that Hamas wants the death of all Jews . By allying themselves with Trump the Israeli government has also shown that they also desire for the massacre of a people (not just evict them from the area)

The issue with this statement also is seeing Hamas as the only problem . There was a proposal by the Arab countries rejected by Israel and America. Israel have changed the terms of the ceasefire and broken it by refusing to allow aid in.

Edited

It is both incitement and intent imho as Trump is the President of the USA and authorised $100s of millions worth of shipment of heavy bombs, warplane parts, artilllery shells and tank shells. These are all weapons for killing people.

He also stated that “Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted!””

does someone know how many Palestinian bodies does Israel hold ? Are they sick and twisted too?

Quite. They withhold them for years.

Yes they are, but Israel gets a free pass.

Israel hasn’t held civilian hostages! They haven’t strangled babies.

Interesting choice of words.

Israel is a nation state and so civilians held without charge and under no suspicion of any crime are called detainees instead of hostages. Hostages are civilians held by unrecognised criminal organisations, like terrorists or organised crime gangs/cartels. So even though roughly the same thing happens- heavily armed men storming into your home, beating you and tossing you in a vehicle and taking you to some heavily guarded detention area and then refusing to divulge your location or health while indulging in rape and torture- the quirks of the English language is that hostage is when the heavily armed men are not an arm of a government and detainee is when they are an arm of a government.

On “strangling babies” very true, I have not seen any reports of IDF strangling babies although there was speculation that is how Hamas murdered the 2 Bibas boys although the pathologists haven’t issued a formal cause of death report afaik.

However, IDF snipers and drone pilots purposely, routinely and daily shot and killed hundreds of children in Gaza:
“The signatories unanimously described treating children who had suffered injuries they believed must have been deliberately inflicted. “Specifically, every one of us on a daily basis treated pre-teen children who were shot in the head and chest,” they wrote.”
https://edition.cnn.com/2024/07/26/world/open-letter-45-us-physicians-gaza/index.html

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c7893vpy2gqo
“The 62-year-old surgeon told MPs: "What I found particularly disturbing was that a bomb would drop, maybe on a crowded, tented area and then the drones would come down."
His face shook with emotion as he paused for several seconds to compose himself. He continued: "The drones would come down and pick off civilians - children.
"We [were] operating on children who would say: 'I was lying on the ground after a bomb had dropped and this quadcopter came down and hovered over me and shot me.' That's clearly a deliberate act and it was a persistent act - persistent targeting of civilians day after day."

When the IDF stormed and occupied al Nasr hospital in November 23, they forced medical staff to leave behind babies in the NICU by promising that they were arranging an evacuation with Red Cross. Which was a lie as the IDF then simply watched these newborns die slowly of dehydration and starvation.

I'm not sure shooting children in the head is much of a moral distinction. Utterly unsurprising that the deaths of the Bibas children are being weaponised to justify further violence against the Palestinians.

I hate this idea that we need to pick a side. If I criticise IDF then some accuse me of being antisemitic, or that the destruction of Gaza is somehow justified.

To be honest there have been atrocities from both sides.

I think Trump's statement is just mad, he is threatening civilians, I sense he was very pissed off when he wrote it. My first thought was, here comes another war on terror and I expect to see USA flags burning on the news tonight.

Totally agree with this, apparently according to this forum I am both anti semitic and an Islamaphobe. I suppose technically I could be both, but in fact am neither. I just say what I see and cricitise where necessary.

That comment hasn’t aged well.

How many lives would have been saved if Hamas had just admitted defeat & released the remaining Israeli hostages & dead bodies once Trump got involved.

How many lives would have been saved if Israel has stayed at the table and negotiated the next phase.
and not broken the ceasefire?

Those 15 executed aid workers would still be alive for one.

But then they would have had to withdraw from Gaza and not gone ahead with the plan to "seize territory" and "divide up Gaza".

You can never bring yourself to say one negative thing about Hamas can you?

It’s all Israel, Israel, Israel. Like Israel woke up one day & decided to take Gaza just because they could.

Your obsession with blaming one side makes you blind so you stumble around asking “why does no one do anything to stop it?” when most observers see a bigger picture with blame on both sides. You’ll never change the fact that Hamas started this war and could end it too, no matter how many links you post of wartime atrocities.
