Conflict in the Middle East

How might things have been different

Several posters on here refer to Israel as a colonizing state, what different decisions could have been made back in the 30s and 40s, following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, to create stability in the Middle East?
I posted a different version of this question that got deleted without comment, I'm hoping this is an acceptable question.

It's a good thing that as a person you have empathy for Palestinian people. If majority of Israeli people would have empathy for them then we would see humanity winning, wouldn't we?

Perhaps if their leaders had more empathy for their people than hatred for Israel, there could be peace.

Wasn't Gaza an open prison before it was turned into rubble by IDF?

Edited

No. If you look at photos before the war it was no prison but a functioning place with schools hospitals etc otherwise they wouldn't have been bombed would they.

I wish the Palestinians had just one leader at some point in the past who cared more about the actual future of his people than killing Jews.

Arab history is full of such examples, there has been many instances on Jews and Muslims living together ( although not so much in recent history I know. )

But I wish there had been just one Palestinian leader putting actual lives first. I still hope one day there will one.

I hope one day there will be a Palestinian leader who cares more about supporting the Palestinian people than destroying Israel.

Curious at the lack of engagement here considering how many people want to rewrite history for their own purposes.

I don't think people are "rewriting history", they are simply seeing history from different angles, using a greater or lesser number of sources, all of which have different degrees of veracity and then they are coming to conclusions.
I gave my view, it was deleted, that's why I stopped engaging here.

You couldn't find a way to express yourself that was less contentious?
