There is not much information about who the people are that are being released by Israel after the ceasefire

Found info from a few of them on todays TG.

Ahmad Khsha, 18, who was arrested in January 2024 in Jenin. “They arrested me because my brother died during a shootout in Jenin. After he died, they arrested me. They raided our cells on Saturday before releasing us and threw teargas at us. They tortured us in the cell, every day. They also tortured and mistreated the women.”

Osama Shadeh, who was waiting to be reunited with his 17-year-old daughter Aseel, said: “It’s hard to describe the emotion we’re feeling at this mome

“My daughter was arrested on 7 November 2024 when she was protesting against the killing of Palestinian children in Gaza. She was waving a Palestinian flag. Israeli soldiers shot her in the foot and handcuffed her. They accused her of trying to stab the soldiers. The fact that she is being released now means that Israel knew that my daughter had done nothing wrong. Yet they kept a minor in jail for over a year.”

from bbc

According to the Reuters news agency, most of the people released today were recently detained and not tried or convicted.

I believe so

Whatsinanamehey · 01/02/2025 20:23

111 other Palestinian prisoners who were released were being held under administrative detention without trial.

Zakaria Zubeidi, a former commander of the Fatah-aligned Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades in Jenin, received a hero's welcome in Ramallah on Thursday night after he was released with 109 other Palestinian prisoners as part of phase one of Israel's ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

Pebblesonthebeach40 · 02/02/2025 08:54

Among these terrorists, 150 were released to Gaza. Seven of the 150 were serving life sentences and were deported to Gaza, while the rest of the 150 were originally from there. According to the report, the Gazans were arrested after October 7 during IDF ground operations in Gaza.

Thirty-two will be released in the West Bank, and one terrorist, an Egyptian, will be sent to Egypt.

Whatsinanamehey · 02/02/2025 08:59

According to the report, the Gazans were arrested after October 7 during IDF ground operations in Gaza.

They were arrested but never charged with anything. Nobody who was involved in the Oct 7th attacks were released. Most of them were men who were detained because the MO of the IDF in Gaza Is most men are Hamas unless proven otherwise, rather than the other way round.

Some of these men came back to find out their children were killed and still under the rubble. Or their parents are dead, siblings dead.

Hamas wanted their release. Accurate.

"Not a single Arab country has agreed to accept even one deported Palestinian prisoner," a Palestinian Prisoners' Authority official told Ynet. He added that Turkey has agreed to take in the Jerusalemite deportees but will first review their backgrounds, "

Pebblesonthebeach40 · 02/02/2025 16:59

According to the official, all released prisoners are housed in a hotel and are not allowed to leave. He described their situation as moving "from an Israeli prison to an Egyptian prison," noting that Hamas leadership has so far remained silent and has not publicly pressured nations like Qatar and Turkey to expedite their acceptance. The official also claimed that the former prisoners spent an extended period wearing Israeli prison uniforms and slippers, adding, "The Egyptians are not treating them warmly."
Meanwhile, 23 additional prisoners who were set to be deported abroad remain stranded in Gaza. Besides Egypt, other countries mentioned as potential hosts for the deported prisoners include Algeria, Turkey, Tunisia and Qatar. In a joint statement, Qatar’s prime minister and Turkey’s foreign minister said they are willing to accept some of the released prisoners but did not specify a number. Still in Gaza, the place they get a heroes welcome. No one else wants them.

Whatsinanamehey · 02/02/2025 17:11

In a joint statement, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed al-Thani and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that they would agree to host a portion of the released prisoners, without specifying their number. Al-Thani emphasized that hosting the Palestinian prisoners "must be based on their own decision," while Fidan simply stated: "We have agreed to accommodate a certain number of Palestinian prisoners expelled abroad."
This situation arises as negotiations for phase two of the agreement are about to begin. Al-Thani indicated that there is no clear plan yet for conducting the discussions, adding that Qatar is currently holding talks with Israel and Hamas in preparation for the negotiations. "We hope to see movement on this issue in the coming days," he said.

Why miss out the rest of the article from wait for it... i24 news. Not biased at all.

"Eighteen of those released Saturday had been sentenced to life and 54 were serving long sentences for their involvement in deadly attacks against Israelis. Some have been in jail for two decades. In the West Bank town of Beitunia, whistling crowds greeted the released prisoners as heroes, waving flags and chanting support for Hamas."

72 murderers and involved in deadly attacks treated as heroes. Clear citizens support killers and terrorism. Chanting support for Hamas. There are those that suggest innocent people who don't support Hamas - 🤔

Who are the Palestinian prisoners released in exchange for Israeli hostages?

Israel has released 183 Palestinian prisoners in the latest exchange for Israeli hostages held in Gaza, part of a ceasefire that has paused the war but whose future is uncertain.

Sounds very much like the experience of released Israeli hostage Eli Sharabi.

How much further into the bowels of hell can these people sink?

These articles call the detained Palestinians arrested on suspicion of being involved in terrorism, hostages? They’re the same as the Israeli families, babies and children, dead bodies and international citizens dragged into Gaza after the one of the world’s worst terrorist attacks?

What kind of people would take this clear DARVO attempt at reporting seriously?

Do you @EasterIssland?

The article is about a primary school principal released after a year to discover his whole family except his brother is dead . From severe beatings he has impaired eyesight.
He was not charged with any crime from what I can see from his article only that his school was run by the UN.
Can you imagine that. It does not take from the suffering of any Israeli hostage to feel sympathy for this man .
Why are not the same. Humanity would tell us to feel for all of these people.

Wow, what WILL they think up next.

Extremely good of the evil Israelis to release them while they (the Israelis) carry on committing a ‘genocide’, just so they could run to the media and tell their harrowing stories of the ‘abuse’ they suffered.

It's difficult to know when so many Palestinians who were once healthy and taken as prisoners in Israeli dungeons, are now dead.

ImpartialObserver · 07/04/2025 16:36

There have been reports going back years that Hamas has murdered Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israel.

Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of one of founders of Hamas (who incidentally was born and raised in the West Bank town of Ramallah where it is alleged there is no Hamas), wrote about and has given speeches to the UN about Hamas horrifically torturing and murdering Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israel in Israeli jails and that was going back to late 90’s. He was in an Israeli prison himself and witnessed it. That was the main reason he became disillusioned with Hamas’s ideology and decided to work as a spy for Israel.

I’m don’t think Palestinians released back into Hamas controlled Gaza are going to say that Hamas abused or tortured them.

It has also been well documented that hunger strikes are a strategy used by Palestinians in Israeli jails.

I’m sure there ARE incidences of abuse of suspected terrorists in Israeli prisons, but on a mass scale and as a government policy, when they are going to release them to tell the world about what Israel has allegedly done to them, I think that makes Israel look rather stupid when they need the support of Western governments against surrounding hostile Arab states.

After all if we are to believe Israel is indiscriminately and deliberately murdering tens of thousands of Palestinian women and children inside Gaza in a genocide with the whole world watching, what’s a few hundred suspected terrorist Palestinian men in Israeli jails?

They really need to make the propaganda make sense!

Critical thinking skills are needed.

Absolutely terrible article.

I don't understand though if Israel signed up to the Geneva Convention how are they getting away with this as torture of prisoners is a war crime .
