Conflict in the Middle East

Yes because that’s representative of the entire pro-Palestine movement…🙄

That’s like me saying those Israelis cheering the bombing of Gaza shows all Israelis hate Palestinians. Which is obviously nonsense.

Read my post again....

Funny but my reaction to that clip was cold terror at the robotic chanting in response to his simple, empathetic statement that we should condemn Hamas. I'm interested in why yours isn't?

Cold terror? No exaggeration on your part here?

SummerFeverVenice · 09/05/2024 16:26

Can you elaborate many of who have been saying what exactly?
Is it:
All of those who condemn Hamas at Pro-Palestine rallies are shouted down?
Most?
Many?
Some?
A few?
One?

Usually when one writes “Those who..” without a specifier, it is implied you are speaking generally, as in most or more.

Who has assured you that “this is not the case” and under what terms did they do so? Assured you that most are not shouted down? Or that they hadn’t seen it ever happen? Or that it never happened and never would in the future?

Do you have any other recorded instances prior to today?

user1471505356 · 09/05/2024 16:36

I do not think condemning Hamas at a Palestine rally is a good idea, possibly trying to cause trouble, a bit like the recent "looking too Jewish " incident.

CwmYoy · 09/05/2024 16:38

All decent people condemn the actions of Hamas.

Whatever their religion, if they have common humanity they condemn this evil group.

SummerFeverVenice · 09/05/2024 17:00

Yes, I agree all decent people condemn Hamas and most have done so for months and months. I agree the clip is a bit concerning. My level of concern is linked to how frequently this sort of thing happens.

LargeAmericano · 09/05/2024 17:42

They’re chanting ‘resistance is justified’.

Says all you need to know that pro Palestinian supporters in the UK think decapitating a civilian with a garden hoe, tying families including babies together with metal wire and setting them on fire , cutting off a woman’s breasts while gang raping her, hammering nails into women’s vaginas, raping children and spitting on the broken. naked dead body of a gang raped young woman who was later decapitated (just to list some of the atrocities carried out on Oct 7th) is ‘resistance’.

It sickens me to the very core that these people walk our streets.

So are you saying that the people at Palestine rallies do actually support Hamas?

Why on earth have they not been banned then?

Which would lead to the conclusion that the pro Israel lobby that consider revenge is justified see the slaughter of 14000 children using bombs that explode in faces, using starvation as a weapon and shooting 6 year old in cars as well as Aid workers justified

It sickens me to the very core that these people are walking the streets.

I find it chilling too. You may not believe Jews when they say they are frightened by what they see around them, but that doesn't mean it's untrue or exaggerated. Bet you wouldn't accuse any other ethnic or racial group of exaggerating their fear, would you?

I was merely commenting on the use of "cold terror". Why are you assuming so many things out of two words, do tell.
When I think of cold terror I think of the children of Gaza not knowing if the plane in the sky is going to bomb them or drop food.
When I think of cold terror, I think of mothers watching their children die slowly of starvation. knowing there is nothing they can do.
When I think of cold terror, I think of the victims of the horrors of 07/10.
Do you?

It's possible to feel cold terror at any number of things, including the list you have so helpfully provided above, one of which is the fear of antisemitism being on the rise and even popular in a way that people of my generation have mostly never experienced. Accusing a poster of exaggerating for using those words is pretty low and dismissive. Personally I'd be apologising in your shoes.

My thoughts exactly. To see people on the streets of Britain today, justifying the horror of an antisemitic attack of the magnitude of 7 October is, I think terrifying and instinctively sent a chill down my spine. It was the robotic group dynamic of the chanting that was particularly disturbing. Especially as what he said the so mundane, so unarguable. Who would not condemn 7 October?
