Who is looking after all the orphans?

I just saw a video of a little boy who could not be more than 8 years old crying because he went to the market and came back to find that all 11 members of his family had been killed by an airstrike. There was no one there to comfort him. His grief and pain was palpable. Who is caring for these kids? It's actually unbearable to see. My nephew won't be getting the gift he wanted on Xmas Day from Santa because my sister didn't order it in time. I was worried about him being disappointed but this has totally put things into perspective.

For my own mental health I really should stop following these journalists but it feels so irresponsible to turn a blind eye. I wish there was something I could do.

@Desertrose2023 thank you, I know you are right. It's just hard to get it out of your head, you know?

@Parkingt111 that just made me tear up. Thank you for sharing. We need tales like that in amongst the news of horror that we see and hear.

I wasn’t sure which thread to post this on but the link is to a charity‘s instagram page which helps support children injured in wars. It’s a great charity organisation called INARA. It’s currently trying to fundraise $30,000 for a little boy called Ahmad who lost his parents, his brother and both of his legs in one of the IDF bombings. He’s with his uncle in Egypt which is one blessing at least but I imagine that he has a very long and difficult path ahead of him. Linking in case there are any posters (on either side!) who would like to donate to his ongoing recovery.

ETA: the pictures in the post show distressing images of Ahmed injured in a hospital bed in Gaza.
