Poor man. It would be horrific to be brought up in the family of a member of a terrorist group, unsafe sect or a war torn country. So much unrest for kids in many places all over the World.

TodayInahurry · 22/11/2023 07:23

You do know the leaders of this evil terrorist group live a multi £million lifestyle in Qatar?

Er yes he talks about that in his speech.

He talks about the exchange of hostages for prisoners in there and I remember saying to my husband that Hamas want someone special from prison.

A lot of posters assumed Hamas wanted women and children but Mosab points to a Hamas commander who is probably the priority of the exchange. I don’t think Hamas care much for women and kids tbh. He pointed out that Sinwar (who is the leader of hamas in gaza and planned the 7th october attack) had been part of the cohort released in exchange for that soldier and basically said they figured a way to get the important people out.

I think it was very brave of him to do this. And it’s interesting that this particular thread has not attracted the usual Hamas apologists, probably because they can’t actually twist this to their own bizarre narrative that Hamas are not terrorists.

I literally haven't seen that anywhere on MN. I've seen a lot of people advocating for Palestinians, for ceasefire, condemning Oct 7th, repeating that Hamas was not voted in since 2006(ish) so very few people today have actually had a day, and not anyone condoning Hamas.

What nonsense 🙄

Interesting that you have posted to disagree with my post , but you have not addressed any of the points made in the video.

What did you think of what he had to say?

I think it's universally agreed that Hamas are abhorrent and have nothing to do with Palestinians and the need for Palestinians to have a land to live and thrive freely as the rest of the world does.

Hamas and Netanyahus govt are similar in their hateful intents and neither do any good for bringing peace and stability to the region and for Palestinians

Noicant · 22/11/2023 16:40

Yeah I think it’s very brave too, you can tell that he’s labouring under a lot of pent up emotion. I think many in the west don’t really know about the dissatisfaction of many Gazans under Hamas. The protests, the journalists kidnapped, people accused of collaborating and being tortured and murdered. They seem to be under the misapprehension that Hamas’s vitriol is only aimed at Israel. Thats not the same thing as being delighted with Israel.

Gaza reporter says she was beaten for not wearing headscarf

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — A female Palestinian reporter said Thursday that a member of the Hamas-run border patrol in Gaza beat her with a tree branch for not wearing an Islamic headscarf last month, an incident that sparked a public outcry.

It's amazing. They're all over every other thread. Same people saying the same thing

Where? As a genuine question, I have not in the past 40 days seen anyone condoning Hamas at all.

JSMill · 22/11/2023 18:38

I haven't seen any Hamas apologists on MN either. That was a really interesting watch. I have said for years that the ordinary Palestinian people have been screwed over again and again by their 'leaders' who ultimately only act in their own self interests. In my twenties I socialised with someone whose dad had been high up in the PLO. Their home was the most luxurious house I have ever been in and I know a lot of wealthy people. I'm assuming it was paid for by creaming off money meant for ordinary Palestinians.
Hamas however are not just corrupt, they are Islamic fundamentalists and that's a danger for the whole region. They must be eradicated just like ISIS.

Noicant · 23/11/2023 05:35

Yeah it’s incredibly sad Hamas are just awful, I think the problem is it’s hard to divide whats good for Gazans from whats good for Hamas right now. Anything you do to help Palestinians inadvertently helps Hamas. People can criticise that but it’s true, a ceasefire benefits civilians but also Hamas, some aid will definitely get redirected to Hamas thieving bastards that they are. An Israeli withdrawal benefits Gazans now who are more likely to survive this but it also means the survival of Hamas and then inevitably another attack or breach of the ceasefire and another incursion by the Israelis.

What do you do? I really hope that eventually both sides get sick of this and a proper partition agreement is sincerely pursued.

I cannot encourage people enough to watch this speech by a child of Palestine.

People say 'what about the children?' He was a child of Palestine. His speech is powerful..........if only people would listen!
