Jingoistic songs

I am possibly conflating issues but: 'The Land From the River to the Sea' is a jingoistic song amongst the likes or 'Land of Hope and Glory'. Neither are really acceptable but one is featured on British television at least annually.
If someone stood up in Trafalgar Square singing the latter week, they'd probably get a round of applause. I would say not so much the former.
Free speech or jingoism has to be 'understood' on all fronts - and where can we legitimately draw the line?

I suspect jingoistic or nationalistic songs are generally accepted to a certain degree within the country they originate from and less so in other countries, particularly if not on friendly terms or if allied with an enemy country. I have a feeling that Land of Hope and Glory wouldn’t get a lot of love in Gaza right now.

Having said that there has certainly been debate and discussion as to what extent Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia etc are acceptable within the modern U.K. They were banned/removed from the Last Night of the Proms a few years ago (but I believe later reinstated).
