Just how successful is the withdrawal method of 'contraception'? Has anyone used it successfully?

I really don't understand why anyone would think this was a method of contraception. I mean surely they teach you about the sperm leaking thing at school? I remember that being in sexual education classes. But if you're actually ttc it's even stranger. Also if he doesn't want to ttc until after you are married why is he so against condoms?

Well for the love of God Helen, please don't come back and patronise the shit out of fellow mners in 3 years time with tales of your "accidental" pregnancy. There's nothing accidental about having unprotected sex.

If you want to get pregnant - have unprotected sex. If you don't want to get pregnant - don't have unprotected sex (or go for a high-tech persona-type thing, but I wouldn't rely on that if I really didn't want to get pregnant).

If you don't mind if you get pregnant, feel free to use the withdrawal method, but don't expect to get pregnant and don't kid yourself that you are using 'contraception'.
