Hi everyone,

I got my day 21 bloods back - 43.6 - which GP was very happy with and means I am ovulating. She also did Choose and Book while I was sitting there and told me to book it myself online. I had a look and the next available appointment at one of the clinics is in 9 days!!!!!

All of a sudden I've gone into [confusion] panic mode and wonder if we should wait a bit longer?? (Been TTC for 16 months - 6 months with CBFM and I'm 37 in a months time). I'm scared and thought we would have a few months to get used to the idea?!

I'm also in the 2ww - hence the craziness. SOmeone slap me round the face and tell me to get a grip please?!

Book the soonest one! They are more than likely going to get you to have a whole lot of bloods done on day 2/3 so if you can go before your AF arrives then the sooner the tests can be done and you can get an idea of what plan they have for you.

You don't live near me by any chance? (hopeful emoticon!)

I would take it if I were you.

I'd definitely get the earliest appointment possible and get tests moving along and started. What have you got to lose?

Good luck and hope everything works out ok

thanks! I've tried to book and its now 57 days and unfortunately I'm on holiday - typical! So just waiting for the next appts to come up and I'll be booked in!

My GP said as Ive previously had HSG which showed all is well and ive just had 21 day bloods and DH has children then we should go straight to consultant without having to have these done???

She thinks he'll give me Clomid? If I'm already ovulating why would he do that?

Clomid can boost ovulation and force the body to make more eggs which inturn makes the chances of concieving higher. Ihave to say that even though we had the results from our GP tests they re-did them as there had been a largish gap between the last set of tests and he wanted to see if they were consistent wit hthe first set.

If you want my opinion I would check out the NHS age restrictions for fertility treatment at the clinic. Where I was I had to be 37 and a half at the point of referal to be eligible and because I was refered late I had to do an appeal with the health commission to get IVF on the NHS.

If they try to put you on Clomid when you already do ovulate then I would refuse and ask to be put on the list for IUI or IVF.

Not sure how your husband having children may effect your eligibility though, some places have really strict criteria.

Has your DH had an up-to-date sperm test?

If you are ovulating and your DH has an ok sperm count etc then Clomid will just encourage more eggs to be released and can sometimes be a waste of time for couples like you. I was on clomid for 6 months and feel like I did waste so much time.
