Polyp removal and ttc

I'm having a polyp removed this Tuesday. Has anyone else had this done? How long did it take to recover? We are also ttc at the moment, 10 unsuccessful cycles ttc no.3. Do you think I'll be able to ttc this cycle, I will be CD3 when I have the op and don't ovulate til at least CD18. Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help .

Hi,
I had a polyp removed just before Christmas and it was all fairly uneventful, except really sick after anesthetic! My periods are very different now and we are ttc for 6 months before we're offered IVF. We were told no ttc for a month after the op but your surgeon will tell you all that. I recovered very quickly, but was glad I had the next day off work! Also bled for quite a long time afterwards and no tampons allowed so very annoying!!!
Good luck for your op and take a good book as I had to wait 6 hours before going in.

Thank you bif. Glad to hear your op went well. TBH I had been looking forward to having a couple of days off and resting up with books etc!! But as Tuesday approaches, I'm getting scared that the biopsy will come back with something horrible. Oh well, at least it takes my mind off ttc- prob sensible that we don't ttc for a month I guess.
I hope you get your BFP very soon.

My surgeon didn't even mention biopsy, I think it's very rare that polyps are nasty, so stop worrying!

Hi there,
How'd you get on?! Hope you're feeling ok, have a nice day off recovering and enjoy the sunshine!

I've had a congenital uterine polyp removed; these are related to fibroids. They are never sinister but these can cause problems. They can release hormones that interfere with ovulation.

Hope the op went well.

Ah, thank you It went great, so easy! Can't feel a thing today, just had slight shoulder ache last night which can apparently happen. The surgeon said it would prob be ok to ttc this month since I had the op on CD3 and won't ovulate til at least CD18. I have had long cycles since Jan- 33-37 days (before that they were 29-30 days for about 18 months). Do you think this polyp has been delaying my ovulation? I have had PCOS in the past (and long cycles when ttc no.1 and 2) but this time the clinic insist my ovaries are totally cyst free. Just don't understand my body!

Hi - sorry, was away for a long weekend! Glad it went well and great news from your surgeon. I don't know anything about polyps delaying ovulation, as I always have ovulated really early, with or without the nasty P! I gather the best thing to do is just not to obsess and enjoy the trying!
