Hi
Am just wanting an idea of what folks personally think are the best preconception vitamins.
DH & I have been taking Sanatogen Mother & Father to be for several months now, but I was wondering if there are any vitamins out there which actually aid conception.n

I have heard that b vitamins are the best for conception and i know somebody that tried for aggggggges and was told to take a certain b vitamin and it worked.

i take pregncare with the added omega 3 capsuels.

Hi - I've always used Zita West's preconception and then pregnancy vitamins, only thing I've found is that Vital DHA which I've taken as well as a multi vit, does repeat a bit so important take in the middle of eating a meal.

I'd be interested to find out as well. We've been taking the Boots ones (both me and OH) but would like to know if it is effective or not. Cos these things don't come cheap.

I meant to say that I am taking Sanatogen ones and not the Boots brand.

Hi ladies I am trying to conceive baby number 1, on my third attempt at IVF.
I have read that eating seeds and nuts help with your vitamin levels. I also take Pregnacare Pre-conception with the added OMEGA Fish oil capsule very day after my evening meal. Also I've read that you have to keep the torso area of the body warm at all times and drink loads of water as the fertility bits need moisture more than anywhere else in the body.

Good luck!!!

Pamsie your right, they are expensive, especially month after month after month....

I've heard that you need to increase your selenium levels too, apparently that helps with implantation. I've bought some selenium tablets (sanatogen caplets don't contain it), but am now getting paranoid that I may be doing more harm than good.

It's all far too

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed, I feel exactly the same! Are we causing more harm than good?

I am just trying anything at the moment just to make sure that I put all the chances of conceiving on my side. We've been trying for well over a year now and getting more and more desperate.

The most recent thing I've heard is to eat pineapples and oranges to maximise your chances of getting pregnant.

I take the boots ones- good total mix and on 3 for2 so better value in my opinion! No mega doses all at recommended levels for intake

Hi just bumping this thread up as I am going to start ttc next year and I am very confused Confused where pre-conception vits are concerned!

I am a veggie and am planning to start Pregna Care Plus (includes 2 tablets - multi-nutrients (folic acid included) and Omega 3.

Should I be taking folic acid separately as well?

Also planning to take EPO when ttc.

Hmm I am not very keen on popping pills just want to know if Pregna Care Plus will cover everything.

redstrawberry · 07/12/2011 20:43

thanks for that link... It was helpful even though it is the daily fail Wink

I guess Pregnacare Plus should be sufficient for loading up with folic acid

Aparently 2 brazil nuts a day contains all the selenium you need so I've started eating them along with taking zits west prenatal vitamins. Also eating a lot of salad ie raw stuff at the moment!

B and D vitamins are supposed to be the best for conception.
