The Pill and Conception of Twins

Someone recently told me that the first time you ovulate once you come off the pill, all the eggs that were not released while you were on the pill are released.

Apparently it is therefore more common for non-identical twins to be conceived that month as more that one egg is likely to be fertilised.

Has anyone else heard about this theory? Is there any truth in it??

Errr I wouldn't have thought so. Imagine if you'd been on the pill for even just one year - 12 eggs released? Unlikely. In fact I think people occaisonally experience a lack of ovulation for a cycle of two after coming off the pill while your hormones settle down.

god i was on the pill for years so that would have been 18x12 eggs realeased in one month.

I only know that they say the older you are the more likely you are to have fraternal twins. I have id twins and they are random (lucky me!)
