Hi.

I have been ttc for over 2 years and have been on Clomid for the last 5 months. My progesterone levels have been checked each month and have been between 48 - 52.
I got a call from the docs secetary today saying my progesterone this month is 98!!!! My periods are a bit later than 28 days so she thinks this may raise a bit more.

I have read that your progesterone goes up when your pregnant though so could this be why it is so high or am I just wishful thinking?

Many thanks

x x

My progesterone level went from 1 to 86 when I was pregnant! So it sounds like positive stuff!

Good luck!

thanks Babies

My progesterone level was 1 before I started the clomid (hence why I was put on it) but for it to double I think something must be going on? I know Im probably setting myself up for a massive fall but the docs secetary said it was really good news but I was so stunned I didnt think to ask her anything else!

JBM. I was only at the early stage of fertility investigations and hadn't reached the stage of being prescribed clomid. I was tested on day 21 of my cycle and day 28 the following month and my progesterone level was 1.

I then conceived 2 months later and had my progesterone levels checked as soon I as discovered I was pregnant (day 31) and my levels were 86.

Fingers crossed that you are pregnant. With a reading that high it would suggest that you are.

Thanks babies! Im hoping and praying that you are right, we have waited so long it is getting harder and harder each month.
I was thinking of ringing the docs secetary to ask her if it could mean that but I think she will be annoyed cos I have had to ring so many times lately and I dont think she will say either way incase she gets in trouble?

Well jsut spoke to the doc secetary and she said it doesnt mean that I am pg at all.
She said that progesterone goes up into the 1000's when pg so 98 just meant I ovulated.

feeling glum again now

don't worry, 98 is still a really high result, it's early days. If you are pregnant with a score of 98 it means that you should have a healthy pregnancy so you've got everything to be happy about! Fingers crossed for you.

justbeingmummy · 26/02/2010 13:35

Thanks pointsmakeprizes.

I know its a great result either way but im just being a misery, after 2 and a half years im fed up with all this waiting and wondering and its really getting me down. Also Im having an op the middle of next month to burn off my endometriosis and check everything else is working ok and am dreading it really so would be lovely not to need it!

Progesterone levels in their 1000's! I wonder if she is confusing progesterone with HCG levels. Fingers crossed. x

I sure hope so babies! Got to wait over a week to find out tho! x
