Slight pink discharge, cramping, and sore 'down there' - TMI alert!

I am currently TTC DC3 (have 2yo DTs), and am on CD16 of the first cycle following a MC at the end of November. My cycles are fairly irregular (I have been diagnosed with PCOS in the past) but if I do ovulate, I think it tends to be around day 22 or so. I am using the ClearBlue Fertility Monitor for the first time and it has me on 'High Fertility' at the moment, and has done since CD9. Over the last couple of days I have had a little bit of cramping quite low down in my uterus, along the left hand side, quite uncomfortable at times. I am also feeling quite 'dry' which has consequently manifested itself in a bit of soreness, but have actually just noticed that the CM I do have is pinkish in colour. As far as I am aware, I've never spotted mid-cycle so I really don't know what's going on.

I wondered whether anyone could shed some light on what might be happening?! I did wonder whether I might have a UTI or something, but I don't have any pain when I wee. Anyone ever have something similar?

Could be implantation bleeding, I'm not too hot on the details. But sometimes it can appear in your CM. I'm none too sure on the soreness though, could be your uterus expanding.

I'm not a medical professional, this has just been gleaned from what I've picked up around MN.

Hi dairymoo

Would urge you NOT to use the fertility monitor any longer. Repeated and false positive readings are commonplace with PCOS as these kits read the level of LH and many women with PCOS have an excess of this hormone to start with (I see you had a previous PCOS diagnosis). This is why you have had a "high fertility" rating since day 9; your LH levels are all over the place and you're being given duff information by the monitor.

My guess is that if your cycles are irregular due to PCOS then you are not ovulating regularly if at all. It is quite possible to have periods without ovulating.

I would seek medical advice re the pains experienced, any bleeding between periods should be checked out medically in any event.
I would also be asking about a referral to a gynae.

Pretty sure it's not implantation bleeding as it's too early in my cycle for that, but thanks for your reply.

Attila - thank you for your comment. FWIW, I am in the middle of subfertility investigations, and have, contrary to your belief, been told that the CBDM is an effective and quite reliable way of seeing whether I am in fact ovulating. My consultant told me to carry on using it in conjunction with regular BDing. Also, as I have had a recent MC, it shows that I do ovulate occasionally, even if not every month.

Have heard that slight potting can be a sign of ovulation - has anyone else experienced this?

Hi dairymoo. For me dryness is always sign of impending af. But we're all different. Good luck though. X

dairymoo could it be something like thrush? Another person on another thread mentioned pink streaks in relation to this. Just a thought.

dairymoo · 01/02/2010 22:00

Hmmm...definitely could be. Have only had it once before but the soreness was similar. Thanks, will keep and eye on it.
