Hi Bella,
Have you thought about temping at all? I know it is a pain with the getting up at the same time every morning but at least then you have a clear picture of when you do ovulate as your temperature goes up. I know sticks are great but it's nice to have something in the background confirming everything. Plus you can spend hours studying your FF chart and it really makes you feel like you are doing something

Bella23 · 13/07/2005 10:30

Its the only thing I haven't tried so may as well have a go with temping next month.
Do you just get a kit from Boots?

Bella23 · 13/07/2005 10:32

By the way thanks guys for the support. Am not crumbling this month just yet - just a minor setback and I even did the deed with my bum on a pillow last night as per Munz's advice!

Worriedbev · 13/07/2005 10:33

Good morning everyone
Congratulations CP, you lucky thing you, wish it was me. I am becoming so despondent now. The spotting has stopped but monitor still showing high although temps are past ovulation temps and have been for about a week now so just dont understand it.
I am still sure we wont be able to conceive naturally with DH's sperm motility only being 25% although doctor said it was a normal count, but specialist said it was on the low side. It is getting to me more and more. DH is going to go to doctors to try and give up smoking, he smokes about 10 a day but has cut down to about 5 in the last week. Specialist recommended vits c and e, and said zinc wouldnt do any good. What do you ladies think, he doesnt like taking tablets and just wondered should I buy the two vit c and e for him and stick to that or what.
We both drink decaffeinated now will this help. Any tips you can give me to increase motility would be great.
Bev

Bella23 · 13/07/2005 10:41

WorriedBev - hang in there honey. I know its so hard isn't it!
I reckon the best way to get the vitamins in your DH is to keep making sure he eats lots of fresh fruit and veggies. Its boring I know but together with a suplement in tablet form then its going to be the best way. I am trying to make sure me and DH eat really healthy.

I know its hard and I too feel very dispondant at times but just keep going!

george32 · 13/07/2005 10:53

Bella,
I bought my thermometer from here
If you order one, you are bound to get a BFP before you need to use it!!

Bella23 · 13/07/2005 10:56

Thanks George

Harrizeb · 13/07/2005 11:00

Bev, does you DH just not like taking tablets, cause you could always crush them and mix them in with food for him and then he doesn't have to think about 'taking' any thing.

Just a thought and I have no information if it helps or not but what about acupuncture or reflexology for you both maybe? I have read on other threads around MN that they have both been used - Expatinscotland I think was considering it. I think it's Rosies who is a practitioner in reflexology, so she might be able to tell you if it would be helpful for DH as well.

Take care.

Hi Bella
My DH does eat a lot of fruit and veg anyway and we are both trying to eat healthier. I will get him a good multivitamin I think and make sure that the vit c and vit e the specialist said about are in there in the high quantities he said.
I even bought some organic milk for the first time yesterday and we are going to try to eat as much organic stuff as we can now.
He is cutting down smoking and going to the doctors to try to quit totally, making an appointment one evening this week so hope things do get better for us.
Here's hoping we get our BFPs real soon.

Harrizeb
Thank you for your reply also. My DH says he is anti tablets as he thinks you can get enough of what you require through food. But he said he would take vit a and c as the specialist recommended it. He has stopped taking the zinc as the specialist said it would do no good. So taking nothing right at this minute. Need to go and get him some vits and might do so on the way back from work today.
Bev

Bella23 · 13/07/2005 11:46

Worriedbev - sounds like you and I doing similar things then, just trying to be as healthy as possible.
Its just so frustrating because if someone could see into my future and tell me that I will have children then I could relax but as every month goes by with disappointment then the fear just sets in that it will never happen!
Sorry not being the voice of doom....just sharing how I feel!

milosmum · 13/07/2005 13:27

sounds promising charlee

good luck for tomorrow debs!

Oh my god CP - looks like congratulations are in order!! [grin . Understand that you'd like to play it safe until you've done another test though. Sometimes these things just seem too good to be true and you really need to convince yourself that you aren't just seeing things! A line is a line though!!

Debbsy - that you're feeling down about things and more importantly that it marred your birthday. Hope the tests go well tommorw - although feeling a bit thick today....what is the SALP thing exactly?

WorriedBev - sounds like you're also having a rought time. Really sorry and sending big hugs in your direction.

Bella23 - Apologies for not keeping track but I'm not sure where you are in getting checked out, but it sounds like you're having a month like I did last month, i.e. no ovulation at all! Keeping my fingers crossed that it's just been delayed...but suggest you make the most of the bd'ing practice anyway...

Eldestgirl - welcome to the party! Hope your stay is short.

I'm on cd20 today and feel rubbish. Cramping, odd pain more towards the left hand side, tender boobs and felt a bit icky this morning until I'd eaten something. Reckon I'm probably 7DPO (if my OPK was right and definitely did OV this month). But this stuff for me is just par for the course in the run up to AF so I'm refusing to get excited at all!.

Hello also to Milosmum, Hula, Harriezb, Jen, Jag, Munz (best not forget you after the telling off I gave you yesterday - lol!!), Tabs - thanks for popping in...and anyone else.

Take care all.

JAG123 · 13/07/2005 15:37

Hi to all

CP Congratulations sounds good to me. I did't think that you could get a false positive .

Debbsy Sorry to hear that you are feeling down. I hope that things go well for you tomorrow.

HB Wishing you lots of luck and hope that you don't get your AF. You sound a bit similar to me. I think that i am on CD21 and felt icky this morn, but i sometimes feel like this when i am tired, plus we only managed bd few days before ov this month. My DHs mind on his DF waiting to hear when he can have triple bypass.

Harrizeb Hope this is your month after all the bding and i think your right about the reflexology i know 2 people who had been TTC for over 12mths who caught after trying it. Have had it myself for diff reasons in the past it was lovely think i will sign up again.

Hi to eldestgirl and good luck.

Sorry i'm not very good at keeping up but good luck to everyone. Wouldn't it be great if this link died because we ALL got BFPs and had to move to the March pregnancy link. I think the heats starting to get to me. J
