Breast pain how soon after conception?

Had unprotected sex on Sunday (been using withdrawal method as contraception, probably silly but was working ok until Sunday when we had a slight miscommunication - TMI I know). Unfortunately, I am pretty sure I was ovulating then. My cycle is a bit haphazard and I am only saying that because of how I felt (eg I always get a very slight pain, cervical mucus etc). It was day 25 but last four cycles have been 63 days, 60, 53, 46. Anyway, I was really cross with DP because I DO NOT WANT TO GET PREGNANT until I have got rid of 12kg of baby weight from DD, 13 months. Plus, I have a few things to do this year so was imagining would try at the end of the year. I was really cross with DP (was his fault really) and thought about getting emergency contraception but then I thought - hang on, I am 38 in April, it would be silly, even though it would be mighty inconvenient to be up the duff right now.

Anyway, this morning I have tender breasts, which I would only expect a few days before my period, not now. And I remember that from last time I conceived. I know it is incredibly shallow but all I can actually think is I don't want to be even fatter, and I didn't want this small an age gap because I think I would find it very difficult to cope. I know I am getting ahead of myself, but just wondering when to test, with my crazy cycle...

If you 17, no it isn't silly.

If you are 37 with polycystic ovaries and you haven't completed your family, it probably is, even if I don't want to be pregnant yet.

There would be nearly 2 years between dc, that's not an unusual age gap... if you don't want to take the morning after pill, which you clearly don't then I guess you just have to wait and see. It does seem a bit early to be getting tenderness (it's only 2 days, after all, the egg probably wouldn't even have implanted yet) but like the other poster said, everyone is different...

It does seem a bit early - but with all three of pregnancies I never had any breast tenderness so I'm not really an expert! I always 'knew' about 10 days post-conception though, due to the metallic taste in my mouth.
Good luck if you are, there are always reasons why timing might not be great but a brand new baby to look forward to would be great too!

It sounds utterly stupid to say but when I was pregnant with DD, I just 'knew'. And it was my first child, conceived one month after coming off the pill. I feel the same way.

I guess I will give it a fortnight and I haven't had a period, I will test. Last time, I had breast tenderness pretty much from ovulation to, well, when DD was born!
