Early mc - could rhesus neg be a factor?

Just mc'd at 4.5 weeks (bleed started then, which was a week and a half ago; still haven't actually lost tissue or anything so maybe chemical pg?).

I know it's probably just one of those things, however much it hurts to think there's no real answer.

But I am worried because I'm rhesus neg and my DH is pos. I have one DS, had bleeds while expecting him so had the anti-D shots and so on, but could this mc be due to that?

If so, what should I do?

TIA

if you didnt have an anti-d shot after your ds was born then, yes its entirely possible.

I can't remember if I did or not. I suppose my record should show that? Should I ask for one now?

I am Rhesus negative and my partner is positive and we have had 2 children without any miscarriages,

DS1 is also negative, so didn't have anti-d after his birth, but during second pregnancy I had anti-d at approx 20 weeks,

DS2 turned out to be positive and then I had anti-d after the birth.

So not necessarily down to rhesus

Sorry you are going through this.I'mm also Rh neg. I cannot imagine you wouldn't have been given your anti D after your DS. My notes have Rh Neg in massive letters all over them. But worth a check though.

I've also had many MCs and its only after EPRCs or post 12 weeks that I've been given the anti D following a MC. I think thats fairly standard.

I've always wondered about being RH neg effecting my ability to carry full term but my recurrent miscarriage consultant said it has no effect.

Thanks all. HeadlessLady, thanks especially for that opinion from your consultant - it's reassuring, I've been kicking myself that I should have pushed harder for a jab when I first started bleeding.
