How long is your cycle pinchme? I do get temps in that range during my cycle but normally before ov. However, everyone is different! I think you need to see the temps over a longer period to get an indication of what is 'normal' for you. Also, you need to make sure you're taking the temp after at least 3 hours of sleep and before you get out of bed. Sorry if I'm telling you stuff you already know! If you haven't already, check out the website Fertility Friend for the charting help, and the book Taking Charge of your Fertility, whcih is brilliant on temping as well. Good luck!

my cycle varies loads from 26-34 days so i suppose i will have to just sit tight and wait to see the big picture.
im on fertility friend. i do take temp when i wake after a full nights sleep and in bed. im not using a proper thermometer just normal digital one, so i suppose the reading wont be accurate.
does it matter what thermometer i use as long as its always the same?

I take my temperature every morning pinchme and I normally get a 35.something reading before I ovulate then a 36+ when I've ovulated. If I was you I'd keep temping but just for info really as you've probably ovulated already judging by your cycle length. Your temperature will go down on the day your period is due to start.

For what it's worth, you can by a temperature chart diary and proper fertility thermometer from boots in a little kit for about £12. I think the only difference to a normal thermometer is the 2 decimal places but the diary is worth it because it's so clear on a graph.

In my experience temping is really helpful but I think you'll need to do it for a couple of full cycles before you get a clear picture. Good luck! xx

Hi Pinchme

If you have not already purchased it, Toni Weschler's book 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' may help. As well as giving a good explanation on temping she goes into great detail about the co-ordinating ovulating/pregnancy indicators. I am only getting my head around temping right now but as Decagirl says it will take a couple of full cycles to get a handle of your cycles (if that makes sense). When you chart the temps you will be able to instantly see your ovulating stage. Toni Weschler's book also breaks down and interprets the different types of charts that you could possibly experience. You can purchase her book from Amazon. I must admit, I purchased it, flicked through it until I got to the temperature taking part and put it down for ages as I thought that I had all the info I needed but the theory and explanation that she has to offer is really informative and enlightening.

Good luck.

P.S. You can get thermometers and chart packs on Amazon too if you cannot find them in Boots. They are quite cheap.
