Sorry, I have left lots of threads before!! So sorry if you have already read my story. I stopped the pill 2 months ago and so far have not had a period. I have been testing and all is negative. We are continuing to try just incase we pick the right day. Problem is in the last 2 weeks it has become really quite painful has anyone else eperienced this and when and why?

You must check yourself out with a clinic or the doctor to start to put your mind at ease (whichever is most convenient for you) but I think you are probably just getting tense and forgetting some of it should be fun. Two months is too short a time to be worrying. ENJOY being off the pill for a few months and see what happens (AFTER a medical check). Good luck

I would also be going to the GP in your circumstances. I had similar problems when ttc; infact I had only one period in six months.

If you have not had a period since coming off the pill sometimes hormonal imbalances are to blame for this (a condition called polycystic ovaries is a common culprit, another possible one is thyroid imbalance). There is no real evidence to suggest the pill is responsible for failure to ovulate but it can mask symptoms of any underlying hormonal imbalance already present. Blood tests can be done to see what your hormone levels are actually like; if they are out of sync then ovulation is certainly affected. Ask for blood tests to be done; as you have had no periods then the tests can be done according to calendar days

Do mention the painful intercourse to your GP as well anyway and particularly if this is at all an ongoing problem (I say this as endometriosis can cause painful intercourse).

Do visit the GP asap and if he is unhelpful or dismissive ask for a referral to a gynae. Two months is but a short time in ttc terms but it can take some time to get referred anyway. Also you're having problems now which warrant a gynae's attention.
