Blood tests for female fertility - what day in cycle to have them done?

I've posted about this before but (being a bit hopeless) have lost the thread. I'm being investigated for PCOS but more specifically for raised prolactin levels, and one of the tests the specialist has referred me for is a blood test for Female Fertility (I assume all relevant hormones and their levels etc).

On the referral doc he gave me, he wrote 'DAY 2-4' and explained to me the specific day-range that I should have the tests done after my period had started. But IIRC he was explaining that it was Day 2-4 after my period started but that this meant a different thing in terms of my cycle (ie it was actually day 3-5 of my cycle, or something like that - I am hopeless with details.)

Anyway, now AF has started and I am concerned that I have got all the above in a muddle. Before I have to resort to calling his (rather difficult) assistant to see if she can clarify, I wondered if anyone on here could translate! If it says 'DAY 2-4' on my referral doc and my period started this morning, it is OK to go for the blood test tomorrow, yes?

Thanks so much to anyone who can clear this up. I have so much information to remember at the moment, and the original appointment was weeks ago now, that I have got very muddled.

hiya, all sounds a bit complicated. When I had mine done it was day 3. They had said between day 3 and 5. I think day 2 is a bit early. Good luck!!

Ah, thanks scottishbird - maybe it's safer for me to wait until Wednesday and that way I'm covered, as it were. Thank you!
