I've booked to see her on the strength of the article in yesterdays Observer woman. Has anyone had any experience with her or with TCM and acupuncture? Would be great to hear your views.
I had acupuncture in December, it led to a bizarre 30-day-long AF; stopped the acupuncture, had tests at GP which came back clear, and did conceive 3 months later, but mc'd at 10 weeks in June this year.
I'm 41, DD is 3yr. GP beyond useless, just said all down to age, nothing they can do etc. She has referred me to see private consultant at UCH though.

I went to Dr Zhai for a year, and got pregnant almost straight away. Sadly mc'd at 9 weeks, and didn't get pregnant again so decided to stop after a year of treatment. I was 43, so age was against me. But 2 friends went to her too, both got pregnant after years of trying unsuccessfully (aged 40 and 45 respectively). Hard to know if it's the acupuncture, herbs, dietary suggestions or whatever - but if you can afford it, go. You can give up at any time if costs get too much. It does work for some.

Jojames7. I totally agree with you about the sense of optimism and control that she gives you; I'm so sorry JoatOakford that it didn't work out for you, it's so good of you to be able to be positive about it for other people. I was lucky in fact, and did get pregnant in Feb 2010, now I have a baby boy of 7 months. Coming back on this thread reminds me of all the heartache ttc can bring - I took a lot of things for granted with DD1, including conceiving her at 37; I won't take a minute for granted with him, knowing now the things so many women have to go through. I really hope it happens x

I had the fertility prog at Dr Zhai in 2012 when I was 41 after 2 failed IVFs. I stuck to the prog for 6 months, which was tough, but at the end I have a DD. Going to go back and try again
