Late period although test saying BFN

I've been off the mini pill for about 3 months now and we're ttc #2. The first 2 months my cycle was exactly 28 days and period came bang on 4 weeks. I was due on Saturday and no sign of period so 4 days late now but I have done test this morning and it said BFN. I was so sure I was going to get a BFP as when I woke up I had the metallic taste in my mouth and been v stuffed up which I've read can be an early pregnancy symptom too, also been v hot.

I know its still early days but patience is not my strong point and I'm so disappointed. There is no chance the test is wrong is there?...clinging to hope....

Yes, I'm still waiting - I'm 7 days over - I've been holding off doing tests but I'll do one tmr morning as I'm meeting a friend for a few drinks and want to know if I can be on the wine or not!

Seems like its pretty common though so I've not convinced myself I'm pregnant yet but we'll see what the test says tmr.

Good luck to everyone else who's still waiting too and keep us updated.

I cracked and did a cheapy ebay test now and it came up with a very faint line. I know its best to do with early morning pee but I have hope now. Going to buy another test and do it tomorrow morning.

Don't want to get too excited in case its BFN tmr - the line was v faint but a line is a line isn't it?!

muchchocolate my BFP line was so faint it looked like a BFN, you could only see it when you squinted/held up to the light, but it was defo a line cos I'm now 16 weeks along

Fingers crossed for a darker line tomorrow

I did a test at 4 days late and it came up BFN - managed to hold off doing any others and thats now 7 days late.

I've bought a clearblue one to try tmr morning - fingers crossed!

I'm now 2 weeks late. Might buy a testto do today. I know logic says I won't be, but the absence of AF does make you think. I saw Jurassic PArk last week, and have Jeff Golblums voice going round my head - Life will find a way....

Well got a 'Pregnant' with the clearblue test so no doubt now!

I had prepared myself for it to be negative as well so good news!

Can I just add my voice to this thread. 2 day overdue AF and a BFN (well, about 5 bfns in 3 days ).

Not as bad as some of you guys, but come on, where is my period! I just want to know!

Bumperlicioso - I'm with you. 4 days over and 3 BFNs I came off the pill (Cerazette) at the end of July, TTC DC2. Had regular 28 day cycles since then (which is wierd, as I always had a 37 day cycle pre-DD), so maybe I am just reverting to my old ways, hence AF "late"? But I'm sure I ovulated day 14....

Oh well, will just have to wait and see I guess. Fingers crossed

Well I'm right up there with you TTC1 last month and I was 2 weeks late and have been having constant mild cramps for 2 weeks and convinced self was PG but tthe stick (s!) weren't having it. And then I looked at that bloody great big cheesy full moon which is so high in the sky at the moment and have put it down to that - now AF with a chuffing vengeance! And about 3 or 4 other girlfriends all the same so blame the mysterious unexplained influences of Madam Moon!

Hi I'm new to mumsnet, I've been ttc since February, since coming off the pill, my periods have been like clockwork, my partner has been working in canada and we went over to see him end of september, I'm now 11days late for period and have sore boobs, I did a test when I got home but it was only the cheapest one and that was negative, this will be my second baby, any advice would be great, thank you

Yes, Tammy. With my last preg I only got a BFP about 7 or 8 days over. Was due for AF yesterday but just cramping and no blood. I'm feeling nervous!

Hi my periods is 5days late I never late only by two days if that but then still have the signs that my period is starting.. I had a little bit of light brown discharge yesterday and this morning a little bit of blood so I thought my period was starting but it stop now and just have brown discharge but not loads and it's still light. I did a test but was negative
I'm having slight signs of early pregnancy like feeling bloated, weird taste in my mouth. Going to the loo loads and my breast are a little bit sore

Good luck to u both hope u get bfp very soon my last ppregnancy my afs was abit all over the place but was getting bfn for a while before I got a bfp but didn't know wen my af was actually due but this time my afs have been more regular some I know I'm deffo late been having lots of symptoms but they have seemed to dissappear today :( going to try not to test now for a few more days

Im having the same problem had a mc in may last year periods were irregular even since after having a spot on 28 days cycle got back on the pill in november and stupidly was very unrealiable with it and messed up my periods and came on earlier then usual Confused

Now 9 days past when my af was due no period negative tests going out of my mind!!!
Have i just messed up my cycle!? Help!

Same boat here! Af was due between Monday and Wednesday, but still nothing! BFN on a FRER Wednesday evening Sad My boobs have been more tender and heavy this month and I haven't had any real af cramps like I would normally get. I'm a bit tired, but not been sleeping well this week with all this going on!

Before I had DD, my cycles were ridiculously irregular but had seemed to stabilise since to around 35 days. Currently CD38! I have been taking the Seven Seas ttc tablets the last 2 cycles - I've read on here that the Pregnacare ones can mess up your cycles so am wondering if that's what's happened? Just want to know for sure one way or the other!
