TTC - DH says I'm anxious and moody.

No bfp this month or last or since the mc in Oct and life is passing us by in a haze of thermometers and charts.

Would it be so reckless to just give up the charts and wait and see what happens? Maybe the outcome will be the same either way but less stressful.

Or should we do everything submit for tests etc. to know we left no stone unturned. I just don't know the answer.

I thought I was coping quite well but DH says I'm anxious and moody (i thought that was him )

Yes I would give up the charts.

I only did charting for one month and even that was too stressful for me so I gave up.

The NICE guidelines for TTC and fertility problems (official guidance by NHS for healthcare professionals) says charting is not recommended for couples TTC anyway.

What they do recommend is regular sex throughout your cycle which is prob was you would normally do if you weren't TTC.

Definitely go for tests though if you having been TTC for a year (or 6 months if over 35 years old).

I agree, give up the charts.
I charted with my DS and it was so stressful.
We're trying again now for our second and, while I admit I am paying attention to my body's clues, I am NOT going back to charting. It made everything so tense and the sex, to be blunt, just wasn't as much fun.

Give up the charts if they make you miserable, but def go and have any tests you can have done.
We were TTC for years until we eventually had some tests done, there was something wrong with me that was easily fixed and had we not had the tests we'd probably still be TTC now so def worth it.

I confess I gave up the thermometor last month and caved in afer about 8 days when DH said but you'll hate it not knowing where you are meaning he'll hate it not knowing if we were in with a chance or not .

We did see the GP together after 6 months and she arranged basic tests (blood and scan - results were 'no further action required' - so presumably fine) for me but said DH 'must be OK' since we conceived once last year (mc at less than 6 weeks). I'm 38 and DH 44 GP says we can be referred to specialist one year after the mc if we haven't conceived again.

I do feel so out of control of what is such an important thing

I know our age is against us - it took DH and I a long time to find each other but now we have we aren't hanging around iyswim

Thanks for your support giving up the charts I suppose I know it's a good idea but I felt the GP took me more seriously since I had ALL the data!

The problem I had couldn't be picked up with blood tests, so had I not had more we wouldn't have found it so def do all the tests they are able to offer you when they do. Goodluck!!!

Hi Inspirachion.......definitely get all the tests done. You are still young in the grand scheme of things but when it comes to ttc time is really of the essence -- especially if you are over 35.
