Hi again!

Welcome ray81 and mampam!

Bummer about af newmember, but like you said more bd to look forward to next month. You are definitely not on your own, I'm sure you'll be amazed how fast we'll fill up in here!

We'll be camping in Wales when I anticipate that I'll next be ovulating...try bd for a week in a tent...with a 4 yo! Wish me luck!

AF finally caught up with me!

Oh well ... onto nxt month for me!

OP posts:
emmalouise21 · 12/07/2009 17:16

Yes !!! Its just so hard, and consumes all aspects of your life. Ive been ttc for 14 months had all the tests and a laparoscopy - all results great and no problems but its just not happening for us. Have just completed month 2 of clomid and am day 23 of cycle and checking every symtom every minute!!!
Where are you upto?

NewMember · 12/07/2009 17:52

Hi!

Well in total we have been trying 'hard' for 8 months - the last 4 I have been using the CBFM - but still nothing!

The monitor was good as it showed me that I was OV everymonth, it also confirmed my cycle would often change from 24-28 days!

However, I feel the monitor was causing me more stress and anxiety - it was making TTC a chore rather than an enjoyable experience with my DP!

So my period arrived today, I have put my CBFM away I plan on staying relaxed for the next 3 cycle - I am going to focus all my energy on other things i.e. looking for promotion/decorating etc... In the hope it happens when I am chilled out!

Failing this ... I will then go for tests and take it from there!

How do u stay positive?

OP posts:
ray81 · 12/07/2009 18:40

Newmember,

Its is very hard to stay positive, some months i canfeel like 'yes it is going to happen' it mostly never does and then other months i feel like ' it is never ever going to happen. This is one of those months where i think that and wonder if i should just give up altogether and accept that i will not have any moren children, after 5 yrs of ttc i'm hoping its normal to feel that way.

Dont know what day i am on think i ov about 7 days ago so about 8 days to go before af should arrive. Feeling very tired and having very vivid dreams (had those last month though) i did get a very sharp pain yesterday and the day before in my right side and i got that the last time i concieved
. will not get hopes up though, although i dont think i could even if i wanted to i've been kicked in the teeth too many times and have learnt my lesson.

I will say not to pin your hopes on the relaxing and it will work idea, i hope it does work for you but we have tried forgetting about it, didnt work, holiday didnt work, planning a wedding didnt work. all the things that work for others have never worked for us we are just not that lucky.
Oh dear can you tell i am on abit of a downer sorry guys. will go wollow on my own.

NewMember · 12/07/2009 18:47

Sorry to hear that ray

Have you seeked medical advice?

OP posts:
Lilybunny · 12/07/2009 19:02

Sorry to hear you are having a down day ray. I think it is only natural when you've been trying for long time. It just feels like it will never happen. But you have come to the right place for a moan so feel free!
I'm right at the start of my cycle and am just getting over the 'it didn't happen yet again' thing and trying to be positive about next month. Gets harder each month though.

emmalouise21 · 12/07/2009 20:31

Hi all, have only joined today so its really nice to share stuff with you all in the same position!!!
I must say am having real hot flushes and was cooking earlier and felt so sick very suddenly - very wierd but just can't bring myself to feel hopeful let alone excited!!!
I find the sadness when you get your period hard then get the excitement that another month is here - one thing i do find really helpful to say to myself is "just another 28 days"
I focus on work a lot, making it easy to forget but then have noticed that i have been lashing out at dh, but have now sat and talked honestly about it, and i think that helps too!!!

Lilybunny · 14/07/2009 13:52

Hey everyone. Well I have been to the GP's and had my bloods done, will get results on friday...see how it goes I guess. Anyone else have any suggestions? Have you had help from your Gp, if so what did they offer?

Welcome emmalouise by the way, come on in and make yourself at home!

Lilybunny · 17/07/2009 20:15

Crumbs, where did everyone go?! Was it something I said?!

In case anyone does come back my GP says my bloods are ok but I've got to go back for a '21 day progesterone'. More bloody needles, fantastic!

Ladylou83 · 20/07/2009 00:10

Please count me in....im going insane. I agree with everything that lilybunny said. And also mampam , I seem to be on here everyday (which isnt a bad thing), but sneaking a look on here from the back of my shared office is a tad hard.

DH wondering what he has got him self in for marrying me...

Lilybunny · 21/07/2009 18:01

Hi Ladylou. Welcome to the club. I think that there may only be me left! How long have you been ttc?

Mouette · 21/07/2009 18:13

Dear ladies
Just want to give you my best wishes. It took me 3 years to produce my son (I'll be 38 in August, had him last April) as I had fertility problems then a late mc at 17 weeks. So I know what you are all going through.
What really helped me was to develop new interests - I did a creative writing course that really took my mind off things.
My advice would be to take advantage of the fact you don't have children to do things you won't be able to do once you have them - go on that activity holiday, on that course, explore a place you've never been before...
There are good things in life even if you're having trouble conceiving.
Oh, and hanging out with single people and gay men is also good. There are people out there who are desperate to have a partner but can't seem to get lucky in love. At least DH and I had each other.
All the best xx

Lilybunny · 21/07/2009 18:56

Thanks for the well wishes Mouette xx

rachxx · 26/07/2009 18:41

hello everyone-sorry have not posted for soooooo long... was very unwell after my erpc, and its been nearly 4 weeks and Im back on the mend. So.... I have no idea at what stage my cycle is at, but have been bding as and when. So... Im thinking that an af will be due within half a week til the next 2 weeks, but Im in 2 minds what I want. If af comes, then I know my body is back to 'normal' after the erpc, but if doesnt come.....then maybe I'm preg again, lol. BUT if af doesnt come, and im not preg I will be so annoyed as!!!! ahhhhhhhh.

anyway hi to all the new people... I posted lots at the beginnih, then went away, lol.

xx

Lilybunny · 26/07/2009 22:46

Welcome back Rachxx. So sorry to hear you have been having a rubbish time. I do hope you are starting to feel better. Fingers crossed af stays away!

I'm ttc following a mc (9 weeks) in january, but still no luck yet sadly. Got to go back to my GP for a '21 day prgesterone' test on Friday. Wish me luck xxx

NewMember · 27/07/2009 15:59

Hi Ladies ...

Sorry I have not posted - it's been SO long!

Well I still have my CBFM packed away - trying hard to stay relaxed!

Pretty sure I OV yesterday - so looks like I am in the 2WW! Time will tell!

How r u all?

OP posts:
decafgirl · 27/07/2009 21:48

Oh my God, this is exactly how I felt - I TTC our DS for a year and I just got lost in a whirl of OPKs, BFNs and, in the end, temping and anything else all the books recommended. I analysed every possible 'symptom' every month.

We're just starting to think about TTC #2 and I'm excited but also dreading the crazy person I'm certain to become...! xxx

Lilybunny · 28/07/2009 11:02

Hello all. Hope that you are going to join us for a while decafgirl! Nice to see you again NewMember How are things going?

So, I'm on cd 16 of my usual 32 and am pretty sure that I OV. Got my lines on OPK - couldn't give them up it seems! I also had some ovulation pain so fingers crossed! Still got that GP appointment to look forward to.

xxx

rachxx · 04/08/2009 09:37

updates for me- its nearly 5 weeks since my erpc, no af yet, but think its just taking its time to get my body back to normal.....

so im at a stand still, what to do????

ray81 · 04/08/2009 10:57

Hello guys sorry i havent been around much have been very hectic with work etc.

Well AF got me this month so this is our 3rd month after mc ttc. But we do have some good news as such, my tests have come back and show i have a conditional called Factor V Lieden it mens my blood clots more then it should and this is what has been causing my miscarriages, when i finaly fall again need to have injections of heparin (blood thinnner) everyday until 34 weeks and then after i give birth. we are waiting til af arrives again this month and will do the clomid again. although i feel very dispondant about ttc at the moment, justcant summon the energy to care, perhaps that is a good thing though.

How is everyone else any good news from anyone?

Lilybunny · 07/08/2009 21:22

Oh thank goodness you have all come back!

rachxx hope that your cycle settles soon. My friend has had a lot of success with acupuncture. It has really settled her cycle down. It might be an option worth exploring.

ray81 sorry to hear about the factor V Lieden, does it help to have a possible reason for the mcs? Often the docs will start you on a low dose of asprin while you are ttc if you have factor V, do they still do this when you're taking clomid?

Still no news this end. My progesterone levels were normal so it's now time for dh to have his guys checked out... about time he was asked to do something! Why do guys seem to get the easy side of all of this?! Af due next week, (.)(.) sore so you never know......

Hi Ladies!

Holiday was gd, great to get some sunshine!

AF turned up while on holiday. It was a strange one tbh - while on holiday I noticed changes in my breast and also felt bloated (was getting excited) - I even fainted (which i have never done) So adding this all up I thought i would be getting a bfp but nop AF arrived! It was only heavy for 1 day tho and lasted in total about 3 - so quite short for me!

Strange! If I dont feel 100% in a few days I will test! My AF means AF - so doubt it!

Hope u r all well

yep, it is really really hard when it doesn't happen. After I tried for a year, I decided to take action so that at least I was in control. sooooo,it was not easy but i did the following:

  1. stopped drinking
  2. stopped my occasional cigarettes
  3. cut out caffeine
  4. improved my diet (I have PCO, so bought a book on what to eat to improve your fertility)
  5. starting taking some supplements called "Sylvia" - just herbal, but recommended by doc and had some interesting things in like royal jelly and bilberry leaf - syrup tasted foul, so must be good for you
  6. did more regular exercise.
  7. went to a fertility temple when on hols in turkey. hahaha, this was just for fun, didn't really beleive it works, but it just felt good to be DOING something instead of sitting around waiting for it to happen. after 3 months of this, still nothing, so doc tested ovulation and said I was not ovulating. she prescribed clomid.... and i waited for my period to take it. but no period!!!! i was pregnant (despite apparent lack of ovulation). So don't despair, I think taking some positive action makes you feel better and that in itself makes you more likely to conceive. good luck!
