Mid cycle bleed

Morning

I wondered if anyone has ever experienced this; I have been off the pill now for two months and both months I have ovulated and had my period (34 and 29 day cycles). I am now on day 13 of my 3rd cycle and I have been having a light bleed for the past two days. Its not red blood but brown. I've also got slight period pains but I have had this the past two months a few days before I ovulate (I am using the CBFM). I'm trying not to worry about the bleed but I am! Has anyone ever experienced this?? Also my monitor is still reading low although I had expected to ovulate around day 16.

Hi. I would like to reassure you that mid cycle bleeding is probably quite normal as you've recently stopped taking the pill. If the next month is the same I would consult your GP as they might be able to refer you to a gynae consultant. Do you plan to try to conceive in the imediate future? If so, you might want to have a full sexual health check-up. I know it sounds serious but it isn't. I'm waiting for my second IVF cycle and they do all these checks before your start the first one. They make sure that you don't have any STIs. Even if you do, they can easily be treated with antibiotics. You should also think if your a cervical smear test is uptodate. It's best to get one done if you want to conceive.
Hope this helps.

Could be cervical erosion- basically bruising/bleeding from cervix - not as scary as it sounds. I get slight bleeds regularly mid cycle. If it is, it's easily diagosed and totally benign. And treatable (although if you're ttc, probably not worth treating as being pregnant is likely to trigger it off again - it's when mine started.

Definately worth checking it out with your doctor though, to put your mind at rest - my doc did a few extra tests just in case
