Hi Sgibbo

Firstly, sorry to hear you're thinking of heading down the IVF route. I know how hard it is to make that decision (our first IVF cycle is hopefully going to start soon!). Still, it'll all be worth it when we've got our longed for DC

Secondly, the first place we started was the HFEA website - see here. This will help you find the clinics (including the handy postcode search to find the ones closest to you) and also allow you to search results/compare clinics. The next thing we did was go along to some open evenings, to get a sense of what our short listed clinics were like. We ended up going with the Lister, because we just clicked with the place (from the administrator who organised the open evening to the clinical director who handled all the questions at the open evening so well). It's also handy for my work, so that getting to early morning blood tests & scans etc could fit around my working day (my work are being very understanding but I still want to fit things around my normal life as much as possible).

There's a really good assisted conception thread on here and the website Fertility Friends is also a mine of information, including women's experiences of specific clinics. Which can be very handy for fleshing out the statistics from the HFEA!

And finally, best of luck with it all!
