Period is now 2-3 weeks late (depending whether I think in terms of Ucl of 32 days, or last months period which was 39 days). have done several hpts all bfn. last month I am fairly sure AF was just delayed due to stress, partly because when I decided to destress by spending the afternoon dancing round the house and singing to my favourite cd's AF suddenly arrived. however, have been doing lots to destress this month (and while I don't really feel stressed, I'm conscious that I may be unconsciously stressed, mainly about location of AF!).... tried funny films, singing, countryside walks, change of scenery, done so many nice things and even managed to not think about AF for days on end, but still no sign...

any tips on whats worked for you?

and should I even bother to keep testing occasionally? I do have a couple of poss pg symptoms including constipation, nausea, spots on my face, boobs feel funny, but I'm conscious these may just be coincidence. I've 99% accepted its just stress delaying ...

Stress cannot delay your period. It can, however, delay ovulation. The luteal phase, the time between ovulation and af, is generally fixed so if you ovulate late, then af will be late too. No amount of dancing and countryside walks will affect this. But of course it makes you happy, so carry on.

Do you know whe you ovulated?

I see what you mean, to a point, but always found that the few times I had late periods when I was trying not to be pregnant, AF would arrive the moment after I did a pregnancy test and it was negative! so have always a assumed that stress can have an effect on that to

not really any idea when I ovulated, not got to the point of using sticks etc, thought I might have done on about day 15 of my cycle though, based on cm, which would make me a good 3 weeks late now.

Dancing queen --- I am in the exact same boat. Have always had very regular cycles of 32 days but last month was 38 and now on day 37 and waiting. No idea what is going on. I went to see my gyne yesterday who said that I may be having anovulatory cycles so he's asked me to have blood tests and to have my cycle monitored with scans to see what is happenning with my ovaries.

Showof is right......stress (and illness) can only delay ovulation, not period. A woman's luteal phase is always the same.

It's all just so frustrating!!

I did think that maybe you are having an anovulatory cycle which as a one off is no problem, even a couple of them but you might want to ask for it to be checked out.

I am sorry. It's frustrating I know, for both of you.

I'm 8 weeks late, with about a million (ok slight exageration) BFN. I'm stressed out to the max and each day my period doesn't come it stresses me out more viscious circle i just don't know what to think

Weewooser -- perhaps you should go to the doctor and ask for blood tests to see if you are ovulating?

Have you always had regular periods?

I completely understand how stressful this can be!!
