Sorry if this post is in the wrong place, I've just joined. Also, it might be a bit long as I have tried to give as much info as poss! Just looking for some advice really as I've just come off the mini-pill and am trying to work out what is going on with my body - it's been so long since I was pill-free...
I've was on the combined pill for about 5 years, but due to high blood pressue went on to the Implanon implant for 6 years then have been on mini-pill (Cerazette) for about 9 months. I've now come off and am TTC. I'm aware that some get a period quite quickly and others don't after coming off the pill.
My first pill-free day was 7 Feb and I had what I now think was a withdrawal bleed about 5 days later. I then had a sticky clear (non-smelling) discharge (sorry TMI) on 28 Feb and thought that was possibly ovulation? I can't be sure as not really noticed differences in CM before as don't really have periods. Then yesterday (18 days after I thought I might have ovulated) I had a very light pinkish tinge when I went to the loo, not enough for a pad or tampon, which was brownish when I went to the loo in the night and this morning I now have a very dull cramping. I am assuming this is my period, but it seems different to ones in the past. Because I was on implant and mini-pill for the last 7 years I have only had a handful of 'periods', but they normally always have started with heavy cramping for a day or so and then straight into a medium to heavy bleed. This is different as started with no pain and a very watery light pink on wiping. I think maybe this is my body having a 'natural' period, so could it be different type of bleeding to my 'pill periods' in the past?
I've also had a breakout of big spots and greasy hair over the last week or so and have started taking starflower oil to try and help with that! I suppose I am disappointed if this is my first natural period after coming off as it means not been successful in our first month or so of trying (that sounds terrible I know, but I couldn't help hoping I might be a lucky one), but at the same time it does now help me by giving me a starting point so I can actually try and work out when I am next due to ovulate!
