Thought I'd start a dedicated PCOS thread for those of us under treatment at the moment and finding it hard going. I know I am.

Just finished my 3rd unsuccessful course of Clomid and now awating news on what to do next........don't know if it is just me but I've started to find it really hard going with all the disappointment and constant setbacks.

Any advice on how to deal with it all?

One quick question to anyone on or has been on metformin....has anyone else suffered from bloating? I'm running to the loo at least twice a day at the moment (on 1500mg a day at mo) so i really didn't expect to have a big bloated stomach too but I have!

Having trouble fitting in my clothes it;s that bad! Any advice? I can't really change my diet cos at the moment if I get anything down my neck its a miracle, let alone trying to eat healthily.......

There are tons of "natural" alternatives to Clomid, Metformin etc and nutritional programs to help control PCOS - www.foresight-preconception.org.uk and www.nourish-fertility.com can help you find someone near you who may be able to help.

Hi I have PCOS and have dd (8) and ds (5). Both times I had diathermy and clomid and conceived after around 4 cycles following the procedure. Tried for 3 years to conceive dd (was on clomid and then another drug for 12 months) and 18 months for ds. I would love to have had more but too old now and also on my own . Still having the kids was the best thing that ever happened to me so please don't give up. Loads of people with PCOS go on to conceive now, its very common.

Another success story, I was diagnosed with PCOS. It took 6 long months after diagnosis to be prescribed Clomid, the doctor thought I was underweight until I persuaded him to weigh me! Weight is a factor but I sometimes think they use it as a bit of an excuse too. Clomid worked and now my DS is 8mths old. I know how stressful the appointments are and really feel for you. As for advice on how to deal with it I did book myself a holiday between appointments once and felt better when I'd got away from it all for a while. Good luck with everything.
