So we had our first proper consultation with a fertillity doc this week. Following a number of tests by my GP we were referred to see Mr Riddle in Woking because I have private medical with my company.
We have had
- Sperm count- all good
- Clap test- all good
- Blood test for hormone balances- bit iffy
- Internal- which revealed polycystic ovaries
Sooooo, now we find ourselves sat in front of the Doc answering some questions about cycles, how long we have been trying (just over a year) smoking status, drinking status (apparently too much!) and such stuff.
Upshot if he rubbed it in good and proper that if he gives me Clomid there is an increased risk of multiple births (I have non-identical twin brothers!) and that we need to be prepared for this.
All advice heeded, he writes us out a prescription for 50mg Clomid and asks me to call when my period starts (iratic) and book in for a scan to look at my follicles.
Following a year and a bit of TTC (I am currently 28) this new development fills us with hope and excitment.
Bring on the BD!
