Hi
I used a opk on Wednesday night at 10.00pm on cd 17 and couldn,t believe it when I saw a positive. These are the cheap ones off ebay and I have been using them for 2 months and I have never seen a positive I only recently posted on here about my concerns at never seeing a positive on these things. I have also been using a clearblue monitor alongside of these and I have also only ever got a high reading on that.
Anyway on the following Thursday morning(yesterday) at 6.00am I tested with my monitor and got the peak reading with the little egg symbol and then I also tested again at 3.00pm in the afternoon with the opk and it was still positive.
I have tested again with the monitor this morning at 7.30am and it is still showing the peak reading.
I bd on Wednesday afternoon anyway before any of this and I also bd last night I also plan to bd the next 2 nights. After that I won,t be able to bd because of work patterns.
Has anyone got any idea of how often I should be bd after detecting an lh surge is it possible for me to not actually ovulate until a few days later and therfore I could miss the boat this cycle.
I am so excited at actually detecting a surge its unbelievable but I am sure people on here will realise how ttc sends you funny.
However when should I be bd.

Also how long will this surge last. I was sort of hoping that my monitor would have gone to a high reading this morning and would have confirmed that ovulation has happend.

Hi picardy, many say every 2nd day the best so that sperm have time to build up again, others say every day is ok if your partner doesn't have low count problems. Remember that sperm can survive for days and days after sex so don't be too worried if you can't bd right up to the end of a +.

The lh surge can go on for days if your egg has difficulty getting out of the ovary (to put it bluntly). I've had a + for 7 or 8 days in a row. If you temp it helps to confirm that you have actually ov'd when your temp rises.

HTH. Good luck!
