High FSH levels - What to do

I have one IUI and 2 IVF cycles behind me. My numbers are up, or so the doctors tell me. My FSH level is at 15.3, I'm 39 and dh is 40 (nothing wrong with his sperm) The result of both IVF cycles were abnormalities in the eggs, one of Downs Syndrome diagnosed at 13 weeks (we had a termination, heartbreaking) and the 2 eggs collected last time were fertilized abnormally because they reckon the quality of the eggs was so poor, that the wall linings were thin enough for 2 sperms to get into both eggs, creating eggs with 3 sets of all chromosomes (serious abnormality)
I am now surfing the net like crazy trying to find answers to this problem. They say my eggs are fast running out and the ones I have left are not of great quality and are suggesting egg donation. Although this is an acceptable idea, I'd rather defy medicine and use my own eggs, or should I heed the signs. I would really like to hear from anyone with a similar experience.

agnus castus and acupuncture can lower FSH....

I had high FSH with my IUI but had acupuncture ... and now have a DD!!

also check your FSH over a period of a few months to make sure it is a consistent level -- it can vary

Good luck!

Yes I would say that too... I had FSH levels of 89 in October now it's down to 15.9 BUT it should be below 10 - I am 37.
My gynaecologist told me that I would not get IVF as I would first need an egg donour !
It is not that easy to find egg fdonours anyway.

Manc - how high were your FSH levels?
I had 2reflexology treatments and 2 womb massages and got my periods back and my levels have dropped.

can not remember the exact numbers now but I know with both my pregnancies ( 1 natural but was hormonally and follicly tracked for IF investigation and 1 IUI) that my hormones levels were way off the expected levels to achieve pregnancy...

MFL there are a couple of web sites I used when going thru this which I found very help full... www.fertilityfriends.co.uk and www.care-ivf.com - mainly first -- lots of posts on high FSH levels...

i treated a lady with reflexology who was waiting to be "favourable" for IVF and had high FSH levels... by the 3rd treatment her FSH levels dropped and she, apparently, was the most receptive for IVF that she had been.

unfortunately she never did get back in touch with me so i dont know what happened... and its not for me to go chasing clients.

Agnus Castus is brilliant - need to take it for 3 months.

hi there everyone, im new to this! ive had devestating news, ive been told my fsh levels are 18.5, im in a same sex relationship im 33 my partner is 45,iv been trying for 2 years to get pregnant, but also recently 6 months ago been told im pre-menopausal, so was put on very low dose hrt 2mg daily. on monday i was told that even ivf wont help me, and if i carried on self inseminating then i would be very unlikely to get pregnant (2% chance) im obviously very upset and i just dont know what else to do, im going to order some agnus castus, and see what happens, and ive also been told to go for blood tests when i think i ovulate next
