but in a 30 ish day cycle do you think it is likely to be later than day 14? Too lazy to do temps/opks and don't seem to get much cm at any time of cycle - never have really. Have dd1 (2 and a half) so hopefully no major probs (am 35 and lucky that periods came straight back after coming off pill last Oct). I think may just try and bd alt days from day 8 as someone suggested on another thread - but usu knackered on the weekdays I work (erm therefore too knackered to have another baby I wonder??????)

Hi dcb, mine is a 30-31 day cycle, and I reckon I ov between day 14-16. Good luck xx

I always get a certain cramp like feeling for about half an hour and know then I have ovulated. Sometimes so painfull I have to grip the nearest object and hang on tight - so I'm not sure whether that makes me lucky on not. Are there no signs that your body sends you?

I have read that you need to keep an eye on the amount and type of discharge you get during your cycle. Apparently just before you ovulate you should notice that you get lots of runny discharge for a couple of days, then after you've ovulated it's supposed to get thicker for a couple of days before it goes back to normal.

So you are most likely to conceive if you have sex during these few days.

It worked for me - I fell pregnant after 2 goes!

Take your temperature and chart it and it will show you exactly when you ovulate. Go to fertility friend dot com for info on what to do. It is soooooo helpful.

dcb - as you say no-one can tell you and it could vary each month anyway, but if you can't be doing with charting every month, you could try temping for one month only to give you an idea. Or use OPKs for one month. Most people ov around 14 days before period but anything from 10-16 days is considered 'normal'. However, I'm sure there are lots of people on here who will tell you that their cycle falls outside of the norm. Good luck.

I have a 29 day average cycle, but through opks and body checks/temp checks discovered I ovulate on day 21. We were trying for 1 1/2 years before i found this out. Good luck! xxx

I just wanted you to know that it's possible to miss the of signs because they might be later (or earlier) than you expect. Glad to say that after discovering late ovulation I now have two sons. It was good in a way to have such a short wait from ovulation to period if I was pregnant!
