Hello all. Just joined mumsnet although have been reading the threads for a long time! I have been off the pill for about 5-6 months now and ttc..i never realised how stressful it could be! My cycles have regulated to about 30-32 days. This month nothing happened on CD32 so after 2 days i did a test which was a bfn. Waited another few days thinking af would come as had cramping and still nothing so did another test only to get yet another bfn. After being 9 days late on cd41 i started to bleed. I just presumed af had arrived much later than normal..although it was a normal bleed it only lasted a day with some light spotting next day. I just find it weird that for one my af was so late and that i didnt bleed for very long like i would a normal period. My boobs are very very achey which i never get. Would love to be pregnant, but really dont want to get my hopes up. Any advice would be great! x

You do sound hormonal and although you say you don't want to get your hopes up.

If you are pregnant you could be one of those women who doesn't get a positive for ages. Or you may have just had a very late period.. The cramping and boob aches are quite commond pregnancy signs though.

If I thought it would be any good I would say make an appointment for your doctor for early next week and then see what he/she says. I don't know how helpful they'll be though, as it seems so variable from what I have read here on MN.

Maybe do another test in a couple of days time?

Poor you, you must be going bananas by now.

If you have finished bleeding and your breasts hurt, you should do another test to be sure. If you get a BFP, do ask for a referral to the EPAU as unexplained bleeding needs to be checked out and when I had a similar set of circumstances it turned out to be an ectopic (not saying that's what this is, but best to check).

I think if you are pregnant and that is what is causing the sore breasts then you should also be pregnant enough to get a BFP.

Thanks so much for your replies. I had an over the phone appointment with my doctor yesterday who was very unhelpful. I'm going to try and take a step back, de-stress and see what happens. Although i know thats easier said than done! Thanks again for the support.
