Hey Ladies... I need some real life advice!
My bf and I decided to tryfor a baby in Dec, I did a little research and we had unprotected action on various days over my expected ovulation date (new year).
My last period was a little sketchy, as I was spotting from 17Dec until actual arrival on 23Dec, so Im unsure where to start my tracking from.
I had the clear stuff on 1&2Jan and have been having odd symptoms since; feeling sick, but only occassionaly, icey tingling on nipples, which are very sensitive, heavy breasts, sticky discharge, feeling dry 'down there', and gone off sex.
I usually have tender breasts the day before my period, but that isn't due until approx 7-10 days?
I just took a test (Boots own) and it was negative - it did state that morning samples should be used, but is 99.9% accurate?
Can you help? I'm anxious to know, as it would be the best news ever!!
However, I am skeptical that I could conceive so quickly???!

you have tested far too early, if your period is not due for 7 - 10 days, so it could be a false negative. but you need to retest when your period is due or even a day or two late.

Thank you Lulumama x

I thought that might be the case, but having never been pregnant before I was unsure.
How long can you get false negatives for?
Also, when would you take my last cycle date from?
Much love x

i think you date your period as the day you started bleeding rather than spotting.

leave at least 2 weeks between when you think you ovulated and testing.

also, a lot of this is based on a 28 day cycle, ovualting around day 14, which is obviously not the case for every woman

false negative - well, it;s hard to say, but IMO, if you are testing negative before your period is even due, i would not rely on it necessarily.

best to wait another week at least before testing and use first morning wee and read results in the time specified

bear in mind , trying to conceive your first child can take any where between 6 - 12 months, so don't be surprised if you are not pregnant this time

best of luck though !
