I am thinking about splashing out on one of these. Is it worth it? Has it helped you? Is it complicated? Is it better than opks?
Thanks

I use persona which I think monthy test kits are cheaper? but is done for contraception so errs on side of caution rather then fertile time- eg. Persona records 7-14 potentially fertile days a month "red days" wherease clearblue will have much less but both are able to record ovulation. Someone once told me you can use persona test sticks in a clearblue monitor- dont vouch for me though.

I think the monitor is much better as OPK's confuse me (mainly because I am a bit simple!) as it reads the result for you and only asks you for a test at a likely time based on previous cycles.

I got my kit secondhand from ebay so it was much cheaper- may be worth thinking about if you just want to try it out for a bit?

Hiya Yellowflowers... I use one and have been for about a year.

I got mine second hand on E-bay and it was really easy to reprogramme etc.

I prefer the monitor as I could never be sure with the ovulation sticks if I was seeing two clearly identical lines - th monitor gives you highs and peaks and so is not so open to mis-interpretation.

I was quite lucky, I think, as I got peaks on the first cycle and apart from the most recent one where I got all Highs and no peaks I have always had highs and usually at roughly the same time. I am using two monitors at the moment as I am taking part in the clearblue trial. It saves me money on sticks.

It's not complicated. On the other hand I am STILL not pregnant so it's clearly not 'worked' in that sense!

How long is your cycle?

Hiya yellowflowers i have recently invested in a clearblue monitor. I still use OPK sticks as I think I am addicted to weeing on sticks ha ha!!
The monitor is really good through as it shows high and peak times.

I got a new one from a chemist for only £64, then its about £13 for 20 sticks I think. And I think its free delivery. Here is the link if you decide to get it from there.

Fingers crossed it will help us all get our BFP's!!

I had one and found it really easy to use, as beanie says much better than trying to compare lines on sticks (esp when wishful thinking comes into it!)

I got pg on 3rd cycle of using it then lent it to my friend who also got pg within three cycles.

yellowflowers · 05/01/2009 15:28
