But i think this is the fault of NHS so they should fix it!!!

I think the two things which can mean not getting free IVF are having children already or being over a certain age.

Has the hospital/NHS ever accepted that they were at fault or is there a possibility that in the preceding 5 years there has been some other fertility issue not related to the NHS?

merrylissiemas · 28/12/2008 17:41

why do you think the blocked tubes are the fault of the NHS?

tryingforababy · 28/12/2008 17:50

it took me one month to get pregant both times. and after c-section something happend the Dr. that did the lap was very surprised... I´ll go to my GP tomorrow and see what he will say and i let you know..

Thanks
it does help to talk about it. Feeling very angry. that somebody has taken that away from me (to have a big family)

i know. are the blocked tubes the result of infection or adhesions?

tryingforababy · 28/12/2008 18:00

no infection but the Asherman Syndrome could maybe the reson??

Asherman Syndrome isn't normally associated with a c-section is it?

tryingforababy · 28/12/2008 18:14

no but the consultant seamed to me like he did not know what has happend and last week he said my only option is IVF.
and it does not make sense how i had Asherman syndrome one day and not the next (hmm)

if i were you, i would get a second opinion on this. unfortunately, it does not sound like the hospital was at fault re your infertility and they are notoriously difficult to get to accept responsibilty for subfertility. but good luck, i know how heart breaking it is.

beanieb · 28/12/2008 18:36

could it just be a mis-diagnosis originally? The lap would maybe have proved there was no Asherman syndrome but that you do have problems with your tubes?

Is it the fact that it has taken so long to get a proper diagnosis that is upsetting you and is this what you would be blaming the NHS for?

tryingforababy · 28/12/2008 20:21

i had 2 lap and the 1st one diagnose was Asherman and the 2nd one was to fix it and then the dr said the Asherman was gone and now i have blocked tubes,,, both!
and the reson must be the c-section ??? and isnt´t that the hospital fault ?

thanks so much for your input

Lol

I don't know much about it but I'm sure someone here must and will have some advice.

Is it that you think they should have noticed the blocked tubes at the same time as the Asherman? Or that the blocked tubes are the result of the Lap?

tryingforababy · 28/12/2008 21:13

at first the thought the tubes were blocked because of the Asherman ? and because of the instuments the dr used during the lap the Asherman is gone and also the caonsultant is explaning this all to me one hr after the op so hard to take it all in. maybe i should ask for a report or some thing ?

are you trying to become pregnant ?

OP posts:
beanieb · 28/12/2008 22:16

yeah - I am.

good luck. it's so frustrating isn't it?

tryingforababy · 29/12/2008 12:06

oh yes have you been trying for long ?

well i went to my dr. and she was very surprised and she is going to ask for a report from the hospital and ask for an appointment with the consultant and ask him to explain it all because this does not make any sense... and she is going to get the ball rolling regarding IVF and she thinks we should get it for free as this is not our fault.. well we will see the hole process is one year

all the best to you all
