Friend of mine has been told she has a 0 percent chance of conceiving. Anyone had experience? Is this true? She had two children with her exH, separated and now with a younger man who has no children. She is exploring options. She was told this by doctor at fertility clinic.

I doubt it's 0, but it's probably very very low and not without risk (because of the op & then I presume a higher risk of ectopic).

I would imagine it's pretty much impossible TBH

Oh that remins me she had one fallopian tube removed because of ectopic previously. Not good.

I was sterilised when I was 31 and had it reversed the day before my 40th birthday. I fell pregnant about 4 months later but unfortunately miscarried.
I Fell again and our daughter is now 20 months old, a sister for my other 2 children, aged 21 years old and 19 years old!
In answer to your question I was given a 60% chance of conceiving based on the fact that my tubes had been clamped so during the op I had to have the tubes cut and rejoined.
If she has the money to pay for the op then my view is to go for it! What has she got to lose??

she can go to a fertility clinic who can assess teh likely quality of her eggs before she considers a reversal. At 44 (and older by the time its all be done) her chances of conceiving normally anyway are statistically very low. She won;t need to have a reversal if she goes for IVF but many many clinics won;t do IVF on women over 43 are the chances are so low. But given her sterilisation, they may consider for that reason.

doctor at clinic may actually be basing her chances on her hormone levels as well so reversal may be a moot point.
