I need help

My period is always as regular as clockwork and has been for years. I am a notorious date keeper.

I know when I ovulate, get the pains but as we are ttc, I have ovulation sticks and peed on these between 18 - 16 days ago and got the 2 lines. AF expected on Friday morning but so far nothing. Have peed on the the cheapie sticks and all came out negative. I have no symptoms at all apart from craving extra spicy food but that could just be me being a little pig!

We didn't really try at all for our first child and so was foolishly expecting the second to be as easy forgetting that years have passed and the eggs are not as young as they were then.

Hiya, difficult to know but sounds positive if you are normally bang on time. However, is there anything that could make you late - stress, any illnesses? Hopefully not and it's just too soon to get a positive - I know it's hard but I'd wait another few days and if still no AF and no Positive on the pregnancy tests, go and see your GP. Good luck! It is possible to get false negatives - it happened to my friend and she has a little baby boy now!

xx

You may not have actually ovulated this month; it is quite possible for normally fertile women to have the occasional anovulatory cycle. It is also possible to have more than one LH surge throughout the month therefore not all surges are automatically followed by ovulation (thes opk's wrongly assume that a surge is followed by ovulation).

If you are over 35 and have been ttc for more than six months then having a word with your GP is in order. Blood tests can be done to see what your hormone levels are like; this would be far more accurate than an opk.

I knew I should have waited. AF arrived today with a vengeance. Much heavier than normal About to throw my ttc toys out of the pram.

Thanks MsG. Had a bit of a cold but even when I have been ill, I am always on time. Back to the drawing board.

Attila, about to bin all test sticks. Will be seeing my GP soon as I am over 35. Thanks.

Aw, that's such a shame. It happened to me several times when I was TTC. I had a m/c in summer 2007 and my cycle went a bit mad after that. I was really regularly normally but I had a few AFs that came after 33 or 34 days which was unheard of for me before. It's so disappointing, isn't it?

Don't give up though. I'm 14 weeks pregnant now and nearly 36. xx

i was a clockwork 28 day cycle and as soon as ttc my cycle can be 33 or 27 and my pmt symptoms are different - how does it know you are ttc, the body is a deceitful thing, makes the 2ww more stressful when you have different symptoms each month. MUST NOT SYMPTOM SPOT!!!
