Anyone had IVF at NURTURE fertility clinic?

May be about to transfer from the NHS clinic to NURTURE. I've been having IUI and had 7 failed attempts (5 without and 2 with Clomid) including one mc at 5 weeks and one cp. Having attempt 3 with Clomid next week, but if that fails then have been suggested to try IVF.

Trouble is I'm not sure I can afford it and even though there is a detailed list of fees on the website I'm not sure what's included in the IVF price and what's not. They quote £2300 for IVF + £600 for donor sperm and also mention a charge for pre-treatment scan (£120), monitoring the cycle (£400 - for 4 scans), a daily charge for monitoring (£100 - for blood test and scan), a charge for the general anasthetic (£220) and extra for drugs (no price). Also wondering what pre-treatment processes I will have to go through given that I will keep the same consultant and donor that I have at the NHS clinic and how long all that takes. My final concern is the general anaesthetic. I would have to arrange for one of my friends to take time off work to be with me and not sure if you get much idea of when the egg collection will take place or if it just depends on the scans like IUI.

Will try to call them next week but is difficult from work and also I may be coming into contact with the staff in the clinic in my work so am trying to keep a low profile.

I know it's a long shot but just wondering if anyone has been there?

Thanks so much for responding Lottie. I'll definitely check out that link.

I'm not sure I could do Norway, because of the unpredictable time off work, but could I ask where you go just in case I go that route? My boss is not very considerate - think she just doesn't understand because she never had kids herself, but at least NURTURE is very close to my work.

Interesting about the anaesthetic. The NURTURE website says they recommend a general, but if can be done with local that would be better.

Good luck next week - really hope it works for you.

Thanks Lottie. I have now got the authorisation to post on fertilityfriends (was being impatient) and have had two replies, both very helpful but neither completely answered my questions as some not applicable to those who answered. Looks like it's really about £4000 a cycle there (one woman said her drugs were £750 but all the scans are included) and they give you a sick cert without mentioning IVF so the work issue would go away (well they wouldn't be happy but not a lot they could do if officially signed off), so probably best bet if I decide to go that route. I'm 37 and having treatment for the donor element. Don't want to rush into relationship with the wrong person and have the pressure of having children hanging over a new relationship. The decision I have to make is whether to go down the IVF route or go back to hoping for prince charming to suddenly sweep me off my feet lol. When I started all this I thought it would just be a six month waiting list for donor then around 4 months of treatment. All my blood tests were normal and my tubes were 'the best they'd seen in a long time'. Now I'm really beginning to worry that there is a problem with my fertility, perhaps with the quality of my eggs or implantation. Just keep telling myself that since IUI only has 10% success rate, 7 attempts is only really the same as 3 attempts naturally which isn't that many really.

Thanks so much for your help and good luck next week .

Thanks Lottie - just a quick one as I should have finished my lunch break by now, just wanted to say that I'm having my IUI on Wednesday too. Let's hope it's a lucky day for us both.
