Is this the test that claims to be able to detect pregnancy "six days before your missed period"?

Read the packet and the leaflet carefully. While you or I might think that "six days before you miss your period" means 8dpo, the FR blurb suggests that "the day of your missed period" is in fact the day after you were due on (i.e. 15dpo). They also count inclusively (see the example which suggests, iirc, that in a 21 day cycle you can test from day 17), so the earliest date at which this test picks up HCG is 10dpo.

Then check the stats on the back of the packet - the earliest date at which you can test has pretty poor odds of a pregnancy being accurately detected.

The best thing to do with all tests is to wait until at least 12 dpo, then you can have some confidence in the result, because on average embryos implant between 7-10dpo (although you might not implant until even later and then it takes a couple of days for HCG to get into your wee). Sorry to go on, but I think FR's adverts are misleading and it really annoys me.

HTH, and that you get a better result next time.
