TTC post ectopic - should I look at Hycosy?

Hi all,

I had an ectopic back in February which was treated with methotrexate, thankfully I didn’t lose a tube but that means that I’m now worried there are blockages/scar tissue in the tube which are preventing a pregnancy.

I had to wait 3 months to ttc again and have since had 3 cycles with BFNs. I’m tracking bbt and everything is looking good (a strong temperature rise post ovulation which stays high, regular cycle length) and timing BD well around ovulation. I have a healthy diet and regular sleep, the only thing I could improve health wise is I’ve fallen off the wagon with exercise since the ectopic and have gained weight, but I’m still a healthy BMI. I know 3 cycles isn’t long in the grand scheme of things but it feels like forever especially when I have no living children so it feels like it’s never going to happen for me :(

has anyone had a HSG or Hycosy scan privately? I’ve been looking into it but it seems you have to then skip ttc for that month and I’m not sure whether that’s worth it!

HSG should not conflict with TTC that cycle (radiographer here) of you get it done just after your period then you can TTC right away. Are you in the UK? You can speak to your Gp and get a referral for theae checks. Some Drs will do it based off ectopic.

@MixedBananas thank you, that’s helpful to know! Yes I’m in the UK, but I assumed that 3 cycles post ectopic isn’t enough to qualify? I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask
