Starting IVF in September: which vitamins were recommended by your consultant?

Me and my husband have been TTC for 4 years, diagnosed unexplained infertility and tried 6 cycles of Letrozole. We are looking at starting IVF in September. I have been taking the obvious vitamins but I am wondering if anyone has gone through IVF and what brands did your consultant recommend?

I was told to eat a Brazil nut or 2 a day for the selenium, yams for lots of available b vitamins and omega 3 with vitamin d supplements, avoid vitamin a. Food can be better than supplements sometimes.

Hi, I had a successful first round of ivf in 2022. My consultant only advised that I take a high strength vitamin D.
I took it along with a standard pre conception multivitamin that I bought from boots.
10 years of unexplained fertility.
Good luck

I remember they told my partner to take a strong daily dosage of vitamins C and E to optimise sperm.

I took coq10 ubiquinol for egg quality. I can’t remember specific brands I’m afraid.

Our consultant advised only folic acid for me - ended up needing high dose folic acid and calcium due to immune issues, didn’t recommend any for my husband (although there isn’t a vitamin that would have helped with his sperm)!
