Good chance of conception this cycle after Mirena coil removal?

Hi everyone!

I'm 30 and my partner is 32.

We are currently 2 DPO on our 2nd cycle trying to concieve.

I had the mirena coil removed on April 13, ovulated on May 18, had a negative test and then AF came on 2 June. I then ovulated again on 28 June.

We BD'd:

22 June
26 June (late night)
28 June (around 1am) and again later that evening (10pm)

I have attached a photo of my chart.

Do you think we have given ourselves a good chance this cycle? I naively thought that getting pregnant would be easy, but I now realise that so many things need to go right. Only month 2, so I know it sounds ridiculous, but I really empathise with people for who it takes so much longer.

Two of my close friends have fallen pregnant first try, so I did feel quite disappointed and sad as I built up my manifestation of success in my head.

It's so horrible to be in the 2 week wait again. Would be interested to hesr other people's stories.

Thank you!

Yes I think that's good. I've read that it's better to do it every other day, rather than every day, in order to let sperm supply build up again. And the days with the best chance of success are the day or 2 before ovulation so sperm is waiting for the egg.

I fell pregnant with our daughter first try doing it every 3 days (I was 33), now into 4 months trying to conceive our second with one chemical pregnancy to show. So it really is luck of the draw. I would say don't overthink it too much at this stage as you're still early, hard as that is, you can't really control it just have sex as much as you want around the right time.

Although relooking at your chart you are ovulating very late in your cycle (day 27?). Do you have really long cycles? That might be something to chat to the Dr about if you haven't already, because I'd expect ovulation to be earlier by at least 10 days.

@DinoDances Thank you for your response! I always had regular cycles every month before the mirena coil. However, the first two cycles coming off the coil has taken me longer to ovulate. Dr says it's because my hormones are still regulating.

Cycle 1 took me 6 weeks to ovulate.
Cycle 2 took me 27 days...

So slowly getting better I guess! X

Wishing you the very best of luck too! I'm really sorry to hear that you had a chemical pregnancy, that must have been very difficult for you

I had my coil removed in March, had 2 27 day cycles, one really odd 16 day cycle and I’ve now just found out I’m pregnant on our 4th cycle trying! Seemed to take a little while to regulate as I always had regular cycles before mirena coil but not long at all in the grand scheme of things! Hope it works out for you 🤞✨
