Hey all, just wanted to share/vent this morning as I’m feeling pretty crappy about the whole situation.

DH & I have been ttc for 8 months this cycle - not even the faintest hint of a positive. We’ve had full tests done, paid privately, and everything was on the high side of healthy, ie in a great place. Still nothing. Ironically I’ve been pregnant twice before as one offs - once at 18 when the man involved lied about using condoms (was midway through super intense degree so had to get rid) & once mid 20s which led to a miscarriage at 9 weeks. So I’ve never really worried about falling pregnant when I actually wanted to.

That was naive 🤦🏼‍♀️

AF is due tomorrow/Tuesday & I’m not feeling at all positive about this cycle.

Adding to the complication is that we both have really demanding shift related jobs which require staying away a lot (airlines…) & so finding the time in my fertile period to maximise our chances is SO hard every month. We’ve tried but it’s not always been perfect timing as we often can’t dtd every other day throughout, though generally manage a couple of times around ovulation.

Thoughts/advice/experience appreciated. I’m half tempted to look into IVF sooner rather than later as at least we can control the timings.

Sorry to hear that @SquadOfSquid. I'm right there with you, and just got my BFN at 12dpo :( This is month 7.

What age are you? I think that's the real determining factor.

I'm 36. I did AMH bloods a few years ago and they were low nornal so I'm considering re testing them....

We DTD so much last month at the right time, so it is so gutting when it doesn't work. We don't have the same scheduling issue as you, but neither of us have a particularly high sex drive, so going from once in a while to 5 times in a week is a bit much for us both !!

Sorry to hear it's not been easy to fall pregnant. With my first, it took 10 months to conceive. I remember having all the same worries and found sex became a massive chore. I think you would be wise to take the pressure off and just remind yourself up to a year is totally normal, especially when your routines don't always allow you to prioritise sex at the perfect moment. In the end I bought one of those fertility watches that does the tracking for you. It really helped me because my cycles were a bit all over the place. I've got two children now. Second one was conceived much more quickly. Your baby is coming xx

36 too - AMH is high; ovarian reserve is high; DH sperm count also high…so you’d think it would be easy 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Sucks doesn’t it?

65% of women your age conceive within a year.
Age 26 it would have been 90%
But still it's more likely than not. Hope you don't have to wait much longer.

@SquadOfSquid absolutely sucks! Especially when you've got relatives who fall pregnant at the drop of a pin. My sister in law was moaning that she fell pregant first try and wasn't sure if she was ready to stop her travels so soon. Grrrr

I just dropped £90 buying supplements which probably do nothing but I feel like I may as well throw everything at it.

I'm also trying to drink less caffeine and eat healthier but I'm a sucker for some evening chocolate / crisps.

Oh god, the supplements 😫 sounds familiar. Even the fertility dr was asking me if I was taking these supplements I’d never hitherto heard of.

I wasn’t, but I am now, and they’re not cheap!

Ooh, go on then, what did they recommend?! I went for the OVUM ones that have NAD / Ubiqionol.. recommended by good ole ChatGpt. 👌

To be fair, they weren’t actually that obscure in the main - CoQ10 was the one I’d never heard of before that! She also recommended Vitamin D & Omega 3, which was fair, and a multivitamin.
I’ve just ordered some Myo-Inositol so let’s see if that makes a difference to anything except my wallet 🤦🏼‍♀️
