Could c section be causing chemical pregnancies? Keep having them

hi, I’ve now had one miscarriage (11 weeks) and three chemical pregnancies in a row after having a my son and in really starting to think there is something wrong. I had my son via c section and am wondering if it could be scarring preventing future pregnancies. Will book a GP appointment but just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar and what the result was?

Personally I don’t suspect this is related to your c section. I’ve had a c section and I’m now pregnant with my 2nd. I also have friends and family who have had multiple sections and no impact on their subsequent pregnancies. The NHS website also does not list this as a risk of a previous c section for future pregnancies that is mainly limited to delivery and risk of rupture.

I would personally ask my GP to check my hormone levels and then go from there for investigations.

I think my friend had this and it was something to do with her vaginal bacteria being out of whack and she needed probiotics. i did wonder if it was due to her first c section as maybe she was probably given antibiotics.

Im so sorry for your losses and what your going through. I would be leaning more towards an egg and possibly sperm related issue. Did you have your 11 week little one tested for any chromosomal abnormalities?

It is possible that you have scarring, which can occur from a c-section. To rule out scarring or tube issues you’ll want to have a saline ultrasound,TVS and HSG testing.

Did you have a D&C with your 11 week loss? I had one and it caused scarring which I then needed two procedures to remove inorder to get pregnant.

You should also do hormone testing and sperm testing too.

If you can go private for this tests, please do so you aren’t having to fight for basic medical care or have long wait times.

The only supplement shown to increase egg quality is CoQ10 and both you and your partner should take it alongside a folic acid for yourself.

I am sorry your dealing with loss. I had two healthy pregnancies followed by four losses. I went through all the testing and ended up doing IVF so we could test embryos for chromosome issue prior to implantion. I am now 23 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby.

Feel free to PM me if you want.
