TTC - confusing cycle!

Hey all,
I’m really confused by this cycle. My last period started on 1st May and I got a Clearblue Advanced Digital solid smiley on 13th May, so assumed I ovulated around 14th–15th, maybe 16th May. We had sex on the 13th. Since then I’ve had my usual post-ovulation breast soreness and some very mild intermittent cramps, but no spotting or obvious discharge changes. It’s now 31st May, I still haven’t got my period, and I’ve had multiple negative pregnancy tests (including this morning). If I ovulated when I think I did, I’d be around 16–17 DPO by now. Has anyone tested positive only after their period was due? I was due on my period 29th May. Would love to think I’m pregnant but just don’t know! Still no sign of AF and no positive test either! 😩

Given you tracked ovulation, if you are 16/17DPO then I think you’d see a positive by now. What type of tests are you using? My period is almost always regular but sometimes I do get some months where it can be 3 or 4 days late.

@Laur89 hey OP. It can be a confusing time can't it. You might have ovulated a bit later as the previous poster said? It's normal for cycles to vary a little. You might have had an LH surge that the clear blue monitor detected, but not ovulated and then had another surge which resulted in ovulation a bit farther down the line. As the instructions are to stop testing once you get the solid smiley face, it is possible for this to happen and for you to miss a true peak. That is one explanation as for the late period and from my reading around it's not uncommon.

So my experience of tracking was this -
I think later ovulation was happening to me when TTC #2. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and for the first 3 cycles of trying I used the clear blue monitor for tracking ovulation. I was getting solid smileys around day 14 but my entire cycle length was 35 days plus sometimes. As the luteal phase is usually quite fixed in length I suspected the monitor was not picking up true ovulation but an earlier hormonal fluctuation. I did a lot of googling! If you use the basic LH test strips and test daily, you can pick up on how your levels vary across an entire cycle. I did this for the fourth cycle of TTC and found i had two peaks - one around day 14 which was quite high, then a huge one later around day 22. We times dtd around both 'peaks' and we fell pregnant that cycle.

This is just my experience which I am happy to share. The other explanation is you might actually be pregnant with a later implantation.. whatever the case good luck with your testing :)
