Early detection tests are really only reliable on or after the day your period is due. The earlier you use them, the less accurate they are. It’s kind of wild that some brands advertise detection up to 6 days early when the most common implantation time is around 9 DPO😑
If you’re tracking ovulation, personally I’d wait until about 12–13 DPO to test. That way, if it’s negative, you can trust it more and make peace with it. Otherwise, give it a few more days and test on or after the day your period is due then you’ll have a clearer answer either way.
Honestly, I do think some of these testing companies take advantage of women TTC with all the “early detection” marketing and they’re not cheap either.
I was listening to a fertility podcast about spotting a few days before your period, and they said it’s usually caused by hormonal shifts, like fluctuating progesterone/estrogen in the late luteal phase, It’s not necessarily a sign that anything’s wrong! It could just mean your period is starting, or you could still go on to get a positive ☺️
Hang in there 💛
