Me and my Husband decided to start TTC back in November 2024. In March 2025 we found out we were pregnant and then had a miscarriage in April. We have been TTC since but nothing. My husband had a sperm test and his morphology was slightly low but everything else was ok. I’ve had blood tests that suggest I’m ovulating fine.

We have one daughter who is 4, her birth was traumatic and ended in C-section whereby the incision is a T shape. Cutting upwards to get her out. A year on from that I grew a huge dermoid cyst on my left ovary and had to have open surgery to remove the cyst, my ovary and tube as it created a bit of damage. I still have my right side. The advice I’ve been given is there is no reason to suggest I can’t get pregnant again.

we’ve Decided IVF is not an option for us as we have one daughter we would have to fund it ourselves, has anyone managed to get pregnant naturally after a year post miscarriage?

Your specific situation is a bit complex but im assuming your saying your left ovary and left tube are damaged. If your right is in tact, theres no reason why you cant get pregnant.
Ive had miscarriages. After my first , we tried for a year again but nothing happened so we did ivf ( we have had long term fertility issues tho) following that birth. We tried for a year and nothing. We did another round of ivf and froze embryos. Following that we got pregnant naturally but it ended in a miscarriage at 7 weeks. We then got pregnant every cycle and 2 more loses and im now pregnant again ( 8 weeks)
I only have one ovary that responds. My left never ovulates, it didnt even respond to ivf meds and we did have a concern over a issue with my left tube aswell . I was supposed to have laparoscopy to have it removed but didnt in the end

Yes I did. My first pregnancy ended in a mmc in 2019 after almost 2 years of trying. My cycles went a bit haywire for quite a while afterwards but we eventually fell pregnant exactly a year later. We both had some tests done and nothing obvious was found to say we wouldn't be able to conceive naturally. We've since gone on to conceive 3 more times (2 children, another MC and pregnant with 3rd) and each pregnancy has happened quicker. It's so frustrating and really disheartening when you're feeling like it will never happen. Doctors tried to offer me reassurances that it would most likely happen in time and in hindsight they were right but I remember the frustration I felt at the time not knowing if it would.

I got pregnant a year after a chemical pregnancy.

My first ever pregnancy was a MMC at 9 weeks, TTC for 6 months after that and conceived DD who is now 4. When we decided to try for a second we fell pregnant first cycle but it ended in very early MC/chemical and after that my cycle seemed to go a bit haywire although nothing 'wrong' showing up on tests. We fell pregnant with DS naturally a year later.

This is really helpful thank you! My left ovary and left tube had to be removed. I asked to be referred to a fertility specialist as we have been trying for a year with no success, but they refused to give me a referral as they want to improve my husbands sperm first.

i’m thinking its just going to be a case of patience and hope.

My hairdresser had issues with her second one - 2 mcs, but conceived naturally after almost 3 years of trying
