TTC second baby after chemical and miscarriage, feeling disheartened in 2WW

Hi all,

I'm just looking for some support really.

Been TTC no.2 since October 2024. Nothing until a chemical in October 2025 and then an 8 week miscarriage in January 2026 (was BF'ing up until July 2025 so seemed to be the issue)

We have no fertility issues, everything is beyond perfect. In the 2WW and just feeling so lostt, confused, disheartened. So greatful for my child but just mentally exhausted by this journey. No.1 was conceived first month with no issues in pregnancy.

I'm 33, was 29 when concieved first.

Anyone else going through the same? Does it get better, does it look promising?

Thanks <3

Hey I am going through similar ish… I had my first daughter in May 2024 and was EBF. I fell pregnant with my second when first turned 1 years old. Unfortunately, this pregnancy I had to terminate for medical reasons and lost him at 18 weeks in October 2025. Since then been TTC again and have just had chemical pregnancies which is really disheartening me. Sending you so much love x

Hi - I'm similar. Had my DS in Oct 23. Started trying for no.2 in May 2024. Took 6 months to get pregnant then in Dec 25 had a miscarriage at one day short of 10 weeks which was really devastating as had had scans at 6 weeks and 9 weeks and everything seemed great.

Unfortunately no luck for us since and we've had tests and actually my DH has a low sperm count, so we've both been super healthy and basically preparing as if we're going to be starting IVF (well ICSI) in June, so just over a year over started trying. Our consultant did say we could start with IUI but given the success rate and my age I'd rather just crack on with IVF. I'm 35 and DH is 31.

I know this doesn't sound super hopeful BUT I'd say I feel so much more relaxed having a plan in place now! That being said, I know we are v lucky as we can afford to do IVF privately which of course not everybody can at all - and my understanding is you don't get any NHS support for a second.

Hi all!

Thanks for the reply. So sorry to hear about your struggles. It is a journey for sure…having fertility problems with second child is weird and harrowing experience.

I wish all of you the best x
